Doctor says I only need to cycle 15 minutes once a day and that Perito exercises are not necessary.

The final frontier. Deciding when, if and how.

I'm about 2 months post-op. Maybe it's because I'm younger? He said that Perito exercises are pretty much just for people that have had atrophy in the penis and I wouldn't really benefit from it. I did experience natural erections before so I don't fall into that camp. I trust him and he's a grizzled veteran in the field but it conflicts with so many others' experiences here that I wanted to hear what you guys think.

Twelve, my doc said twice a day 20 minutes each in the shower. I was having a lot of pain and discomfort so I did extra cycling in a big hot tub of water to sooth my hurting dick. I would pump up to 70% and bend it up, down, side to side for 5 minutes and then pump all the way up and see how long I could last without saying Uncle.
I only did the garden tub for 6 months, I still cycle in the shower most all the time.

I was just implanted this week so I don’t have experience with Perito exercises but I think you are correct about the atrophy issue.

I used a VED and penile tension device for months in preparation of surgery. I gained 1/2 cm in all that time. Hardly anything.

But like you, I continued to get organic erections when turned on and nocturnal erections as well. They just weren’t stiff enough or lasted long enough to be useful. I hadn’t seemed to have lost a lot of length and girth to ED the way some guys had. I suspect that greater gains are possible for guys that had NO function due to nerve damage from prostatectomy surgery for example. My penile tissue got stretched several times a day with erections. (However lousy they were)

Did your doc mean, don’t bother it’s a waste of time? Or don’t do it, you are putting unnecessary wear and tear on a mechanical device by doing it?

Someone else here commented that if you are vigorously active, using your implant frequently (whether thrusting into someone else, or vigorously masturbating) you are getting the same action as the Perito exercises.

I’m curious to hear what others have to say about this.

My Dr didn't bring up Perito exercises while discussing cycling. When I asked about them, it led to a discussion about wear and tear, from all sources, on the implant components. His biggest concern was repetitive spikes in PSI (fluid pressure) affecting the cylinders, tubing, pump valves and connectors. He didn't say "don't do them", but made his concerns clear.

To all. Without fail, some advice is repeated as gospel here. There isn't a magic cycling process or exercise that gets you a great outcome. My dr gave me a paper with his suggested cycling routine. I think the first few days it was just a simple pump as much as you can stand & release three times a day. Over a couple of weeks it moved up hold pressure for 5, 10 & so on as possible. I quickly got to point of watching YouTube videos rather than watching the time.

As for the exercise. I never could bend my dick while even close to fully pumped. Its my feeling that if & only if your cylinders are starting to adhere to your dick that the exercise works. It frees it up so it can stretch to it full size.

What was your size before and after the surgery?

i get the impression that perito exercises would benefit more those who have lost some size in order to recover it

Discovernew. If your question is directed to me? I've posted many times that I always had a lot of girth. I had big girth after surgery but I postponed answering the constant chatter about size on here until the 3 month mark. Measurements were not taken before ED. My wife said many times that she never wished for bigger/longer dick. I had lots of girth at 13 yo. That lead to comments in sports & gym classes. My girlfriend (later wife) loved it. Wanted it all the time. She actually said many years later that she just couldn't get away from my dick. That woman was honest as far as as I could tell. She also said many times that having orgasms early in our love life was a key point. Robert Palmer said it in a song "Addicted to Love".

update your signature otherwise we can't help with questions

How long is your implant?
and penis length pre and post op ?

in general, if now you are about the same length as pre-op, perito ex may not be necessary for you
LGX 18 + 1, 90 cc. 2023/12
Pre-OP VED length: 5.5". Post-OP: 4". At 3 months post-op: 5".
Cycling with a lot of pain for the first 5 months, now improving
If you have a motorcycle or a bike stop using it (ED with motorcycle accident).
