Urologist wants me to be tested for VED

Neither my spouse of I want to use a VED for sexual purposes. I want an implant as pills don't work for me and injections are contraindicated due to having Dupuytren contractures in my hands. I don't think my urologist does implants and I would want to go to someone who specializes anyway.
So my question is do I agree to be fitted for a VED? It might not work and that would strengthen the case for implant. I don't think I need my current urologists approval to get an implant from someone else. Any thoughts will be appreciated.

Go right to a high volume implant specialist. He or she can justify it to your insurance no problem. Your uro doesn't specialize in the procedure so he will probably keep dancing around the issue. If your dealinh with ed for 20 years its time for the ultimate cure!

Most everyone here went through VED. VED was important to maintain the size you have, otherwise atrophy will set in. For example, I was 7" at 21 yrs old and 5" at 39 from all the injections and atrophy that happened with my venous leakage. The vacuum got me back up to 6 for my surgery, than my implant went extremely well with an AMS LGX, woohoo!! Overall it was a 5 year process of specialists.

Thanks guys. I'm perfectly fine with using a VED in preparation for surgery. However, do I realy need an expensive medical grade device for that? What I'm dealing with at the moment is whether to cancel that appointment for fitting.
