Revisions: Dig out the old reservoir or leave it behind?
I'm getting a full revision. Penoscrotal. Surgeon stated he needs to make a 2nd incision in my abdomen to remove the old reservoir, then no assurance he could dig it out. So what's the downside of just leaving the old bag in there?

Personally, I'd have it removed. I don't like the idea of old medical devices floating around in my body that are providing no benefit. Others might disagree.

I'm glad my revision surgeon was able to pull my old one out, however she did not make any additional incision, she removed it through the one incision already done on the scrotum.

What does your Dr recommend and is he a high volume implanter? I'm with ElbowRoom that I'd prefer to not have any abandoned medical devices left inside me, but I would also want my Dr to be onboard and experienced with removal of it. Saying he would have to make a 2nd incision wouldn't give me great confidence in him, to tell you the truth. I think I'd probably get a 2nd opinion if possible.

What went wrong with the original implant, junk? How long did you have it?
40. Implanted July 5, 2024, by Dr. Andrew Kramer, Urology Associates of Cape Cod. AMS LGX, 21cm cylinders + 2cm RTEs. Idiopathic "hard flaccid" ED following bacterial infection. Tried pulse waves, Cialis, TRT, even spinal injections. Nada.
