Hi guys,
I just had my initial appointment with a high volume implanter here in Australia.
He's recommended because of my age (43), we should do a Doppler first to check for a venous leak. I do agree with him, I think it's a good responsible first step to help see if there is anything physical going on.
I think a part of me wants there to be a venous leak so there is a justifiable reason for getting an implant and not just a psychological reason. I know that sounds crazy but in feel like it complicates things more if it's just a psychological thing and not physical.
Have any of you guys had a Doppler done, found no leak and still gone down the implant route?
The whole thing of just a massive mind f*ck
Thanks in advance
No venous leak but still gone with implant?

No venous leak but still gone with implant?
43, ED since late 20's, Pills on and off since then increasing strengths with inconsistent results. Now 5mg Cialis daily and either 20mg Cialis or 100mg Viagra
Not sure if it's Psychological or Physiological, long-term use of SSRI's probably hasn't helped

Have you ever had your hormones checked? Your T can be in range, but free T and bioavailable T can be low enough to cause effects of hypogonadicism.
Testosterone mitigates venous leak in hypogonadal patients:

Might be worth considering.

40. Implanted July 5, 2024, AMS LGX, 21cm cylinders + 2cm RTEs. Idiopathic "hard flaccid" ED following bacterial infection. Tried pulse waves, Cialis, TRT, even spinal injections. Nada.

No morning wood for years, sometimes in might get a halfy, im not sure about nocturnal erections.
I take SSRI's normally for depression which absolutely can affect you sexually, I recently swapped over to a SNRI, I'm going to see how that goes for a bit.
As for hormones, I've had them all multiple times, free T, everything, every time they come back normal. If anything above the middle of 'normal' levels.
My Dr is Dr Chris Love

THIS. It doesn't matter very much why your dick doesn't work. It only matters that it doesn't work. Very few conditions respond to treatment. That leaves you with one option if pills & injections aren't viable.
It's called an implant.

You can also accept yourself as you are and not destroy what you have left
Born 6/15/74. I have substantial venous leak with fairly severe hour-glassing, but no hard plaques. My urologist is Dr. Laurence Levine who performed a Doppler Ultrasound and diagnosed me with VL in 2020. Surgery scheduled for Coloplast Genesis 5/19/25

Almost 99% of men don't accept impotence....sometimes they either fix it or suicide.
Please answer questions i asked you or stop ranting.
Not sure what you asked, but a few sentences are not a rant.
BTW a prothesis doesn't fix impotence. It allows you to penetrate by destroying what is left of your natural penis

This is a very misleading statement. An implant doesn't "destroy what is left of your natural penis." It replaces the corporal bodies responsible for shaft erection. The rest of the penile structures remain intact and functional, barring complications.

Agree!! Mark is just a massive troll at this point.
28 years old.
Currently trying injections - may be a neurogenic cause of ED.

I'm sorry for your bad experience, Mark.
Implant, with all thy faults, I love thee still.
I will personally keep getting these until I’m fibrosed and un-implantable or until penectomy becomes mandatory

We can philosophize all we want, but survival and reproduction are encoded in the very source of our genes. Like it or not, genes survive only to reproduce. Optimizing that ability is at the core and defines our being. It’s difficult for us to close that loop and embrace new-age acceptance theories until we’ve truly exhausted all options and reached a true dead-end.
