Are you gaining time—or losing it?

Postby Chevalier » Wed Sep 03, 2025 5:33 am

I am in the really stupid situation of having had moderate ED for 10 years: with 10 mg of Cialis a day, I can, with some effort, get a semi-erection that is enough for 5 minutes of sex, but have my sex drive and enjoyment of sex disappeared? Definitely.

My urologist tells me: Be happy, you're years without needing an implant. If, you won't need one until you're in your 60s. So be thankful that your member is halfway working.

But when I think back to my time before the nerve damage, when spontaneous erections were possible and I could—forgive my language—really dominate women with my erection (for their pleasure), those times are definitely gone.

So I ask myself:

Am I actually losing years instead of gaining them?
49, healthy, fit. Mild-moderate ED for 10 years due to nerve damage. On 5mg Cialis daily. Looking for a miracle cure.

He's wrong a halfway member is only good for masturbation.

Try sildenafil...it's more potent than tadalafil...combinations are sometimes more effective too..if they failed and sex is infrequent why don't you test your luck with trimix...also if all failed implant will still gain you years instead of losing them.

Im 1 week post op. And maybe I dont know what im talking about but..

Too young is right. A halfway working dick is really only good for masterbation. And you are right: for a woman, having sex with us when we are barely able is ~more work than it is satisfying for them BUT they are (often) loving and caring so they do it but dont crave it...

Now that im implanted I realize I forgot what it was like to have a very hard erection that can not be ignored. Before implant I had a good sized but kinda soft downward pointing erection. I could barely pull off any kind of real sex (like trying to push a piece of string through the eye of a needle). Pills helped. Injections helped a little more but they cause scarring and are really inconvenient.

I guess I haven't seen the downside yet (eventual revision?) but now I can get a rock hard erection in 90 seconds that stands straight up (can hang a towel on it) with no pills or needles. I haven't used it for actual sex yet (cant wait! Again im 1 week post op) but I cant wait to see the look on my wife's face after we get down to business with my new friend.

To me (so far) IPP is the answer to so many of my issues. Like many others my only regret is not having done this a decade ago (and I think the tech has improved a lot over the years).

Good luck. If I can help by answering any questions, fire away.

~8" before IPP but not "hard" enough for pvi.
Tried everything as things progressed:
Pills, pumps, prp, trt, gainswave, peptides, trimix, quadmix and a vibrating ring.

And, your urologist may be your issue here.

I went to a person for 5 years that was the urologist for the medical group my whole family sees. She would listen to me and was happy to prescribe all the cheap and good taldalafil I wanted (they have a compunding pharmacy so theyd sell me 90 pills for 20$) but that just wasn't cutting it.

When I brought up IPP she said its an option but stressed that it was a lot resort. She sent me to the groups general surgeon for consult.

I made the appointment but I also made an appt with Dr taj. He's a high volume surgeon and he's 10 minutes from my house.

I learned that the surgeon my uro sent me to does less than a dozen IPPs a year (she's a general surgeon) and dr taj does 6 to 10 IPPs every week!

When I found out dr taj could get me pre-approved with my insurance even though I HAVE AN EXPLICIT EXCLUSION on my policy, I was sold.

3 weeks later I had my surgery and 1 week after that here I am!

My point: not all urologists are the same. Make sure youre seeing someone who understands your goals.

Sorry for all the words. I know i type too much.
And, again, ask me anything.

Not to many words Colby, Chevleir and others need to reread them and understand not all doctors have a clue what’s going on.
Chevleir you’ve known you have had nerve damage 10 Years Ago, have you had a Doppler? You found this site so take from it what you can.
Remember “ I wish I would have done it sooner “.
Get some appointments scheduled. Get it figured out, If you need an implant you could have it in as soon as six weeks.
Where would I be if I had mine done when it should have been done. Aww the aggravation dealing with doctors office thats ran by a work at home telecommunications expert.

Chevalier, for me in my opinion I would definitely get an implant and not lose anymore time.
My libido has started to wain a little, but I still enjoy sex with my wife and it is awesome with my bionic weapon.

So, I'm on the side of just do it!

It's my opinion but you are asking what others think. You ARE LOSING time and opportunities that you will never get back.
Having an erection that is not sufficient to do what it is intended to do damages your self esteem, confidence, and mental state. Your partner is probably too caring to share the impact they feel because of what it is already doing to you. They don't want to make the situation any worse.

I have zero regrets getting my implant. I reached the point where I had nothing to lose.
In hindsight, I waited longer than I should have exhausting every option.
Getting an implant is the FINAL option and there is no going back. Any decision you can not undo is tough to make.

Do NOT let any more life pass by. Get the implant sooner than later!
