I'm 65. Diagnosed with Peyronie's disease 4 years ago and initially had a 60 degree curve that later resolved to 30 degrees, but also had waisting at the base and ED. Tried drugs. They worked for awhile, then didn't. (Also made me feel like I had a huge cold!) Then Trimix and Edex. It worked...then didn't. I could do an injection, get "full" but not hard. Finally, I decided it was time.
The decision is the most difficult part. When diagnosed with Peyronie's and the doctor said "maybe you'll end up with an implant" I said "no way!" Years later, with more research and reading all of your posts, here I am.
I got implanted on 8/28. Tomorrow will be one week. Coloplast Titan. 22 cm with 1 cm tip. I'm only a week in but did I lose some size? Yes. I also lost size because of Peyronie's. Enough to matter? Nope. My wife saw me in recover with swelling and black and blue but still commented "This is going to be really good!"
I had an incision right at the top of the base of the penis. The Doc used a glue to close the incision. A drain was placed.
Overall, I've had almost zero pain. I've stubbed my toe hard that hurt more. When I was sent home just after surgery, I had one piece of gauze placed against the incision (not taped) and one piece of gauze at the drain tube sight, and a pair of medical cotton briefs to hold everything together. That was it. There were two small (1 cm) latex skin covers on the head where the needles came out.
Recovery the first few days was fine. I got very swollen and black and blue. It looked like someone hit my dick with a meat tenderizer! The drain was taken out yesterday and the doc said the recovery looked good so far.
I'm supposed to not play with it for 3 weeks until my follow-up with the doc. He will then go over inflation and deflation and if all goes well, then he said that would be the last consult.
Observations so far: (I know it is really early!)
1) There was a lot more swelling / bruising that I thought there would be. The Doc said different people bruise differently. It looks bad, but no pain.
2) Amazingly little pain. I have literally had more pain with a badly stubbed toe before.
3) Feels weird to have my penis pointing up constantly, although that might be the new normal. I have to remember to pull out the boxer briefs when taking them down so I don't drag my dick with it.
4) urinating is interesting with a partial hard on. The Doc recommended sitting, which I do, but that means leaning forward and pushing my dick down so I can pee in the bowl and not over the top.

5) I am partially inflated, but couldn't tell you how much since I've never seen zero or 100 percent. I'm guessing 50%? It is straight, but soft and can be moved around.
6) like one other person mentioned, I can feel air bubbles if I squeeze it around. There is a bump (dog ear) on one side. If I press it, it collapses, but moves somewhere else. This is not unexpected, but again, I feel what feels like micro bubbles moving in the tubes. Maybe it isn't bubbles, but just the feel of fluid in and around the kinks. I have no experience.
7) The bulb feels really hard. I didn't expect it to feel so hard. I'll know more in two more weeks when I start to cycle it after my meeting with the doc. I can locate the release valve, and the doc said that is an important step. He didn't want me playing with it until the follow-up in case I inflated it but couldn't release it.
8) Partially due to the ED, I've been on Testosterone HRT for over a decade. That has made my testicles shrink to about 1/2 their teenage size. Having the bulb in my scrotum gives a much fuller look to the scrotum which is good! An unexpected side-effect. You can't see it, but it just fills everything out a little more.
9) after years of a flaccid dick that didn't work even with drugs, vacuum, and injections, its amazing just to see it stick out straight! I can't wait to get to cycling and the swelling to go down. I know I'm going to be VERY happy!
Thank you everyone for your posts in this forum! It's given me a lot of information (after sifting through the noise). If I hadn't read a lot on here, I'd probably still be just limping along with failed other therapies.
