Hello all,
I'm a 38yo and getting an implant due to ED that was caused by a neurological event that happened 10 years ago.
I am getting a Coloplast Titan implanted by Dr. Osterberg in Austin, TX.
I live alone so I am trying to prepare any and all resources ahead of time that will make my recovery easier. I have tried to skim these message boards for tips and so far I've got.
1. Reusable ice packs
2. Full body pillow
3. Jock straps for support
4. Plenty of ibuprofen/acetaminophen
5. Pain cream such as Bengay
6. Bags of peas/frozen popcorn
7. Loose fitted sweatpants (not grey) + long shirts to cover region
8. Baby socks
9. Soft seat cushion for car
10. Think ahead for how you're getting your prescriptions (antibiotics + pain meds)
11. Stay on top of your pain med schedule
12. Women's tube top
13. Easy meals/snacks/DoorDash
EDIT: I started this list above with only the first 3 things, so thanks to all who have helped me fill in numbers 4-13 so far!
What other things helped you during your recovery that I should make sure to get ahead of time? Would a walking cane make it easier to get around the first few days? Any and all tips would be appreciated.

Why didn't I think of that

It's good that you're thinking about your recovery. I'm north of San Antonio, close to New Braunfels, I had my surgery done at Lackland Air Force Base.
All of us heal different, so do what best works for you
1. Reusable ice packs - I used my old flexible ice packs that I use to use on my knees, the ones I have are in an enclosed soft fabric sleeve which protects your skin from getting too cold. I would just cup it over my whole dick and scrotum area while in my soft recliner with my feet up.
2. Full body pillow - I didn't use one, but I think that's a good idea to help with sleep
3. I tried some of the jock straps but I didn't like the way they felt around my waist, some of the ones I got looked good online but the waist band was too tight for the size that it was and the band wasn't soft. The elastic fabric cup didn't seem to be large enough for my swollen jewels.
(I used some of my jockey bikini cut sport briefs that I use under my road bike cycling bibs for extra support. The sport brief ones are super soft and it holds everything in place and are comfortable. ) There are other guys on here that have used other brands of sport briefs and I think they work the best.
4. Make sure you take your pain meds, it takes a lot of meds to ease the pain for me, so it took a while before I could just use tylenol and Motrin to control the pain. Try not to get addicted to Hydrocodone, or other more powerful pain meds, it's a pain to get off of them. Hopefully you're one of the guys that won't need much pain meds.
5. A soft soft comfortable chair or recliner/ couch. It makes the recovery better
6. I didn't use a cane but, it wouldn't be a bad idea to help with walking because it's pretty hard to walk normal with a bionic dick that is 50 precent inflated and your balls are swollen.
7. Comfy black or dark fabletics type active wear pants that are loose and not tight. My wifey didn't like that my dick was sticking out, so I had to find pants that wouldn't show much and were comfy enough to not restrict my hurting dick too much.
8. Long shirts that cover up some of that bulge too. I had to wear those kind of outfits for 6 weeks before I was deflated
9. For some guys, it is tough to sit and drive in a car, so you might want to get a soft cushion for your car. And you might be able to use that same cushion in some of the chairs in your house for surfaces that are hard.
I couldn't sit in a chair that was hard wood or hard plastic, it just hurt too much.
10. Once you are cleared, warm sit baths. I would do some of my extra implant cycling in a large warm water tub so I could do stretching exercises on my dick at 70 precent inflated for 5 minutes, stretching my dick up, down and side to side for 5 minutes before I would pump up to the max and see how long I could go without deflating. I did this extra cycling because I was having so much pain in my glans. I would do this about 3 to 4 times a week while my wife would be out doing her morning walks. My doctors protocol for cycling the implant was twice a day for 20 minutes run the shower. I didn't take 20 minute showers, so I would shave with it still inflated after the shower. . You might have a different protocol, so follow what the doc tells you to do.
RobotRomeo, if you have more questions we'll try to help
If you want to PM me I'll answer your questions also.
Good Luck fellow Texan!

Sworks - Thank you so much for taking the time and putting the effort into such a thoughtful response.
I really appreciate the tips, advice and hearing about your experience. I didn't put much thought into my wardrobe so I'm definitely going to add some loose fitting shorts/sweatpants and long shirts into my Amazon cart.
Comfort during driving is also definitely a concern. I'm hoping I don't have to drive around too much. Luckily I work from home. I will have to take a look into what type of soft cushions are out there for the car/in house as well.

If you use frozen popcorn it will mold around your Brand New Penis. Just but a bag put half in another bag seal them up and ready for use.
Heat pad.
High protein Low fat snacks. I starved after my surgery for three weeks.
Grab a woman’s tube top. (Loose). I wore one as a skirt. along with baby sox.

Re: 38yo Getting Implanted Monday Sept 8th - Advice for recovery
My 2 cents being 10 days post op:
(Warning: too many words again, sorry)
Spend 5$ and get 5 bags of frozen peas
Lots of tylenol
Plan your clothes to go home from the hospital: you will leave "mummy wrapped". That means gauze wrapped around your tender and half erect penis sticking 90 degrees away from your body (I did not plan well on this one).
If you live alone and will be alone while you recover, you'll be fine on this but I needed to figure out how to get around at home for 3 days with my daughters while mummy wrapped (bathrobe).
Plan easy food for the first 48 hours. I bought sushi, soup and ordered doordash Thai food.
Find a show to binge and enjoy the downtime.
Setup your chargers and remote controls for your return from surgery.
Baby socks.
Clorox wipes near your toilet.
Drink plenty of water.
If you have one of those kids toy arm extender claw things (you can search that on amazon) it'll help.
Unisom (if your dr allows) is really helpful for sleeping.
The 2 cuts on your glans are supposed to be there and will go away in a week (I thought it was erosion. My dr laughed at me on that)
Figure out how you'll get the prescriptions without leaving the house: antibiotics (not optional) and narcotics (i filled the script but didn't take them)
I used medical transport to get home but you probably have a ride home worked out.
The first 48 hours was a rough ride for me but all part of the journey. Youll be fine quickly. Its been very smooth sailing ever since and I have absolutely no regrets.
Best of luck. Post here if you have questions.
Oh ya: try very hard bit to sneeze for the first 3 days!

Coloplast titan 26 cm placed on 8/26/25 by Dr Taj
~8" before IPP but not "hard" enough for pvi.
Tried everything as things progressed:
Pills, pumps, prp, trt, gainswave, peptides, trimix, quadmix and a vibrating ring.
