I’ve been posting for a while about being numb and not able to cum. Last night I had PIV sex and, like always, was not able to cum. My number dick simply has not been giving me the sensation needed.
Well, this morning g, thanks to a hand job from my girlfriend I was able to cum. It actually hurt a little since my pelvic floor has not fully healed (after 5 1/2 months). But, it’s m optimistic for the first time that maybe I’ll recover enough to have a full sex life.
I’m still numb, but apparently have figured a way to cum even with 1/4 the sensation. My hope is that I will regain sensation and it will become easier. I’ve always said that this will all have been worth it if I am eventually restored to reasonable sexual health.
After almost 6 months, I’m relieved to see that I can still cum. Sex without orgasms is almost worse than no sex at all. I’m hopeful that maybe I’m on the road to recovery … no thanks to my doctor who has been no help at all.

Hey man - I remember reading your earlier posts! Congrats man, this feels like an important development and indicative that you’re slowly healing. I hope you keep healing up and sex keeps getting more enjoyable from here on, Osprey.
Diagnosed with venous leak after having ED majority of my life. Grateful to have some answers, and considering both MPP and IPP as options.

Re: Success
I'm leaving for first consult in a couple of hours.
Nervous like never before. Not even first HALO Jump or first Night Op diving below 140 ft made me like this.
I've done research for 6 months after finding out this was an option for me/us.
In my 6 years with Recon, my wife endured several waits for my return. My goal is to give both of us "normalcy" in our retirement. I taught and coached for 34 years after 4yr enlistment and 2year extension. She paid back then...I want everything I can do for her now.
ED for ten years. Atrophy clearly evident. Tried mostly everything over the last 2 years. She's lovingly said "It really doesn't matter-I'm here for you forever.."
I'm a "lucky sonofab____" to have her in my life. Only our skills, a little luck, and God brought us home every time-but some great guys couldn't make that trip over the years....
So! moving on.
What should I know from your experience? What should I ask the doctor? What can I expect?

Re: Success
Osprey, Congrats on the progress. Healing can be a slow process, especially as we age. When I was a kid I would skin my knee and the next day is was nearly invisible. Now I skin my knee and weeks later I’m still healing. Now consider all that is involved with healing from implant surgery and we know it will take a while. But you are still on the road of recovery. Good stuff.
GPa, welcome by to Frank Talk. I hope you find the help here you are seeking. You might want to start your own thread so your responses aren’t getting mixed in Osprey’s.
I was implanted in March and have had a great experience so far. The best thing you can do is read back through months of posts here on the implant section. A lot of us have the same questions so you’ll gain a lot of knowledge and be better equipped to ask good questions of your surgeon.
There are differences in technique between the different docs. Some use an infrapubic (above the base of the penis) incision for surgery. Some use a peniscrotal (in the scrotum under the base of the penis) incision. Both are valid and the surgeons have their own reason for which they choose.
Spend a few hours reading the posts as far back as you can and you will learn a lot about this process.
The next thing I would recommend is to use one of the high volume surgeons. Eid, Hakky, Clavell… (there are more) the surgeons whose names come up again and again as you read through the posts. Those folks are REALLY good at what they do. Most surgeons will be fine, but the high volume surgeons have dealt with every unexpected surprise before and know the best solution. And just as importantly, the entire team of assistants around them (NPs, PAs, RNs, office staff) know their task backwards and forwards in a way staff of a urologist that doesn’t do many implants won’t. It will all go smoother with a high volume surgeon.
Finally, while you are in waiting, get a VED (vacuum erection device, or penis pump) and use it for 15 or 20 (or more if you have time) each day. Just enough stretch to be mildly uncomfortable, but not painful. This will help stretch the tissue out to be closer to what you had before. To reverse some of the atrophy that comes with ED. This isn’t about pornstar gains, it’s about giving your surgeon the best chance of getting you a good result. I suspect there is less swelling and pain post op when the tissue has been stretched ahead of time as well.
Keep us in the loop as you go through the process and we’ll offer our experience and help in any way we can.
