Yeah, so I actually think the problem with my LGX (infirmness) is the doc didn’t give me enough fluid! Has anyone here ever gotten “topped off”?

Re: Fluid Top-off?
Somewhere just after my one year timeframe my pump started staying collapsed when I was maxed out. At first I was afraid I had a leak but many months and it stayed the same as in its plenty rock hard and just simply out of fluid. Now at 3-1/2 years in it still goes flat just at the point it feels rock hard. I looked back on the paperwork and the Dr applied the max amount of fluid recommended for the size implant I received. I’m totally happy as I still get that stretched out hardness just as it stays collapsed. If the Dr did his due diligence it should have the proper amount of fluid to max your implant out. If not it would be an error on the surgeon. Could be a very slow leak which would become obvious in time. If you were undersized it could be maxed out and still not be as large as it should be. Fill out your signature at the bottom so we can see who when and where you were implanted and what you have implanted. Maybe need to go back to Dr or go to a different Dr to get a second opinion

Re: Fluid Top-off?
I'm looking at a revision for a malfunctioning implant right now.....and after talking to the surgeon and Coloplast, I have been informed that the tradition is to rip & replace for any malfunctions. replace everything. I had also hoped that individual components could be replaced with some minor surgery .... but it seems like if any incision has to be made, you are looking at a whole new everything.
I have seen instances on this board of sticky pumps being manipulated by the doctor to get them unstuck....but that is with the flesh in-tact.
I would be interested in knowing if anyone has information regarding instances where a "repair" was done by a doctor, perhaps in the office? or a little surgery center?

First, "no," I have not been "topped-off," but I was told by the doctor that if there is too much fluid in the reservoir it is possible to make a small incision to access the reservoir tubing, cut the tubing, drain fluid, then splice it back together and close the incision. Seems like that would be another possible future failure point. I don't see why the same procedure couldn't be used to add more fluid.
