Six weeks experiences?

Postby CowtownSlim » Thu May 07, 2026 8:20 pm

I am two weeks out from AMS 700. Knock wood, recovery has been smooth. I had no postop pain, which was insane given the amount of swelling and bruising evident. Swelling peaked at about three days and I was able to attend a concert with no problem sitting for two hours at 10 days. I am anticipating an appointment for training on cycling at four weeks and then theoretically cleared for sex at six weeks. That is around the time of our anniversary and I had hoped to plan a nice evening out at a hotel to celebrate. However, I gather that things are awkward or even painful at that point, so perhaps it would be better to postpone. Anyone who has been fortunate to have a fairly smooth recovery early on and had a trouble free experience in six weeks, or might it be best to wait to shell out for a staycation? 65 yo BTW.

CowtownSlim, Welcome to the Bionic Brotherhood! I’m glad your journey is going smooth and you haven’t had a lot of pain.
Dude, if you’re doing good when you start cycling your implant, go for it!
Just see how things are going at that point.

I was given device training, or Bionic Weapon training at 6 weeks and I was cleared for sex also. I was really looking forward to sex with my wife but I put it off another two weeks until week 8.
At week 8 PIV sex with my wife was awkward and painful because I had pumped up 30 minutes ahead of time. I emailed my doc and he just told me to take baby steps. It kept getting better every week.

Like I said above, go for it, if you’re feeling good. I think you’ll know.

Welcome again,
Your Bionic Brother in Texas

Hey man. I'd agree as well to go for it. However, I myself had a pretty easy recovery & uneventful healing & was cleared to cycle earlier. For my urologist, that was at week 5, being a week before they usually clear you to cycle. First sex or 2 was mid honestly but it definitely got better & better. I'd still go for it regardless but would just keep expectations to a minimum. Besides, our expectations we place on things are usually the root of our suffering anyway. Good luck & have fun
