Revisions - Russian Roulette for infections?

Postby staphylococcusecoli » Sat Jun 13, 2026 5:26 am

Is it right to say that every revision surgery is a Russian roulette for infection?

If any of you have had a revision, please share your real-world experience if you acquired an infection or got lucky without one.

Just looking for reassurance and bad news is also welcome. Please don’t quote studies, just wanted to hear your anecdotes. Thanks!

My doctor told me about a case involving seven revision surgeries over the course of decades without any infection.

Seven surgeries and no infection is encouraging. Do you think this is because he uses Rigicon?
