I waited till I was completely healed, better safe than sorry, I would rather miss out on swimming than sex with my wife.

I was cleared to go, tub or swimming, after my 2 week post-op follow-up. The incision had completely healed and he said I could go back to normal activities such as swimming and light weight lifting.

Re: Swimming
Vincent, I agree with Wilsonmill, better to wait. I’m sure your urologist doctor’s office has a protocol for full submersion in water. The admin folks probably can pull it up without having to contact the doctor.
Taking a shower is different they usually tell you how many days until you can take a shower.

Ask your surgeon. Some like Eid let you get in the water quickly, but most seem to want six weeks at least. I didn’t get in the water until about 8 weeks, that’s when I was comfortable that the incision was fully closed without any fear.

Re: Swimming
My first Dr said 2 weeks and I was totally healed up and in hot tub around the two week period. Revision Dr told me 6 weeks for any submersible water. I would definitely want to be completely healed and no open wound whatsoever. Pretty obvious when it’s dried out and healed.
60yo.ED started mid 40s pills failed after 10 years. Injections works w diminishing results.

The only thing that matters is what YOUR doc says.
Others guy’s recommendations could get you infected.
We are all well meaning here, but each surgeon has their own way of suturing the incision/doing the surgery. Some will take longer to heal than others. Follow your surgeon’s instructions exactly.

You really really ought to check with your doctor. That guy spent years and years in school and studied medicine, and he’s treated more patients than you can shake a stick at, picking up a ton of valuable experience along the way.
He’s the very surgeon who operated on you, and he did the procedure with skill and precision, no two ways about it. He examined you in person with his own two eyes, went over every last one of your test results, and he knows your body inside and out, how you respond to things. He’s up to speed on your whole medical history, any conditions you’ve had before. He understands the nitty-gritty of your specific case, so the advice he gives is tailored just for you.
Trust your surgeon. That man has your safety and best interests at heart.
Don’t listen to us laymen and get infected.
