Making "the" move ASAP

Hey guys,
I'm new here and I (at least tried) posted a short intro in the appropriate forum, it has yet to appear but hopefully it will show up before too long.First let me thank everyone who comes together to make this site possible as I know finding it has been a blessing to me and I'm sure many others As I had mentioned in my intro post I've been lurking and reading a lot of the past posts on the implant forum ever since my VA Uro recommended that I let him give me an AMS either cx or lgx, with the choice being mine.
This leads to my first question, Which one do I choose??? Here's what seems to be the pertinent info for helping to make the correct choice. My penis size is currently 7.5 inches long when hard with caverject and no stimulation to engorge the spongeiousum and just shy of 8.25 with VED and constriction band. My girth is 6.5 inches around at the base and 5.25+ just behind the head with caverject and stimulation, with the VED and constriction band my penis girth is almost 7.5 at the base and right at six just behind the head. In order to keep as much of my size as possible which implant should I choose? Also, is it possible for either implant to be fatter where my penis is naturally thicker? Also, after over 15 years of ED my dong has shrunk a little, don't get me wrong, I am truly very thankful for every millimeter I currently have but can I have it all with either of the AMS implants? Would it be possible to keep/recover my girth and some of my lost length with the lgx or would I be better off hoping that the Doc gets the length maxed out at its current length and try to recover my girth with the cx? Does anyone know what the max diameter expansion is for the cx? I have been unable to locate that bit of info yet have read that the max diameter for the lgx is 21 mm per chamber.
I realize that this is probably a lot in one posting but since my wife and I have decided to move forward with the procedure we are a bit pressed to make this happen as soon as possible as some impending obligations will make getting the implant impossible for almost a year and we don't want to put it off for that long if at all possible. FYI... I began a pumping and stretching regimen almost 5 weeks ago just after finding this site...Thanks!!! And I've been through the usual; pills/pumps/injections. Nothing is very effective for me at this point except for the injections and a constriction band and with or without the band the injection causes my penis to ache so severely that enjoyable sex is out of the question. Yes, sex is possible just too damn painful with the injections to be very pleasurable.
I just want to thank everyone again for making this great community where anyone can come and be informed, helped, supported and valued, thank you everyone, peace...

In my opinion, the first step is figuring our some candidates for doing the surgery. That is inflenced somewhat by geography although guys have travelled to the oppsite coast to be operated on by a specific doctor and in one recent post a member seemed averse to going across town. It seems like the docs tend to have definite preferences in regard to the two manufacturers with some implanting AMS almost exclusively and others highly favoring Coloplast. Your generous size might make you a better candidate for a Coloplast Titan.
If you can let us know your general location and willingness to travel we may be able to give you some names to research through the "Search "function on this site.

Hey man, thanks for the reply. My situation is not too flexible, I'm fairly broke so travel to see a particular surgeon i s out. The VA has offered to do it as I am retired with medical benefits and would be at the mercy of the Uro- surgeon at the local VA facility. I just want/need to know which implant(either CX or LGX by AMS) would be better for me in light of the experience of the men who have a;lready gone through this procedure, the Coloplast product is not even an option for me. Thanks for your time. Hopefully I can have some others chime in with some advise on the questions in my previous post. Be good all, peace...

Isn't there anyone out there/here that has an opinion based on their own experiences? The VA Doc for some reason left the choice of which model to use up to me and even after reading on this forum for days I have not been able to turn up anything that even seems to remotely answer my questions. Please, could some of you veterans to the implant experience help to shed a little bit of light on this for me? Thank you for any time or trouble you may go to on my behalf in trying to answer my questions, peace...

Well, I get my implant next Tuesday. My doctor recommended the LGX. It has the capacity to expand with use. My understanding is that the CX is commonly used when there is Peronie's disease and/or scarring. It may be a bit more sturdy. This is just me and I know almost nothing. I suggest trying to get the surgeon to make a recommendation.

First ... you can NOT use/measure your expected size by what you get from Injections and especially from VED.

The general "rule-of-thumb" is to pull your flaccid penis straight out, as far as possible ... now look down, that is about the length size you will get from an erect Implant.
Also, is it possible for either implant to be fatter where my penis is naturally thicker?

No ... the cylinders expand the same width along the entire length ...

Would it be possible to keep/recover my girth and some of my lost length with the lgx

If you are truly the size you say ... it's doubtful that either model (AMS) would regain your girth. AMS700 LGX/CX cylinder girths are 12mm, inflate to 18mm each. Where a Titan might be a better option ... 22 cm to 28cm length = 22mm girth (before expansion). As for length ... the LGX expands up to 4 cm (1.5") the CX model does not expand lengthwise, nor does the Titan.

The CX model and Titan use different cylinders (stiffer material) than the LGX ... that why usually guys of your size are advised to use a Titan.
I have been unable to locate that bit of info yet have read that the max diameter for the lgx is 21 mm per chamber.

The LGX/CX both come in various sizes up to 21 cm ... with RTE's (rear tip extenders) up to 6 cm. The Titan comes in various sizes up to 28 cm.

One famous implant surgeon would disagree with that statement. He would say the BEST predictor of post-op size is pre-op injected size, assuming you can actually get an erection from injections. Better than flaccid pull. He has done a study in support of this view.

If you are going to use what I stated ... please include the entire quote.

My doctor uses both the Titan and the AMS CX. He does not use the AMS LGX and he thinks if the surgeon measures carefully that the CX is a better than the LGX. I asked him how he determines whether to use the Titan or AMS. He said the diameter of the penis, the thickness of the skin of the penis and the shape of the scrotum. He said sometimes the Titan pump fits in the scrotum better and sometimes the AMS pump does. I didn't ask him directly but I think from reading here that Titans are more often used when the size of the penis is larger than average and AMS when it is not. I don't know what the definition of larger than average is.

From what I have read here some surgeons only use one or the other brand and most men are happy with whatever brand they had installed. So you probably can't go wrong no matter which you choose.

Best wishes,
Dave
