Is driving possible the day after the implant placement?

An implant is being placed in early October. The doctor still needs to perform an examination and will then determine which implant seems suitable for him. I live in Belgium and am having the procedure performed here by the doctor who has the most experience in this area, and who places the most implants annually.

There is an overnight stay in the hospital. But they tell me that I shouldn't/can't drive. It would be painful. I would have to drive about 1.5 hours back home. Being able to drive home myself would be the easiest solution.
Can someone tell me if it is really so painful the day after the procedure that driving is impossible?

I think you should follow your doctor's advice.

Trust your doctor.

Ask them when it would be safe to drive yourself the hour and a half home. Then do what they say.

There is no way anyone here can tell you how much pain you will be in the day after surgery.

If they say it is safe on day 3 then either stay in a nearby hotel for two nights, or find a friend (or hire someone) to drive you home.

The process is not done when the surgery finishes. It is only beginning. Follow all of your doctors orders and suggestions. Before as well as after the surgery.

I would not drive. You will still have anesthesia in your system impairing your reactions and coordination. The act of driving could put stress on various parts of the surgical site, and you could do damage you wouldn’t even feel because you still have nerve blocks in effect. Plus your dick will likely be partially inflated and wrapped up like a mummy.

Listen to your doctor and don’t do anything stupid. Here in the USA following surgery they won’t even allow you to leave unless you have a driver present and they physically put you in the car passenger seat to make sure you’re not driving yourself.

I would avoid driving for a few days, its going to be uncomfortable but more importantly it will increase the chances of infection.
all the heat and lack of air circulation and sweat just a perfect environment for infection.
Good luck brother we're rooting for you.

Thank you, everyone. It seems clear to me that I better not drive myself and will have to find transportation.

Good decision. One big reason is the possibility of falling asleep from the aftereffects of the anesthesia. It's a slim percentage but some folks can nod off suddenly. l drove 4 days after mine and regretted it.
Best of luck with your surgery.
