I had assumed I would be getting the Rigicon Infla10 AX, but after contacting his private practice, I was told that he routinely implants the Rigicon Infla10 X.
This surprised me, so I’ve been trying to understand the reasoning behind the choice.
I recently heard that in Belgium, and particularly in Flanders, the Rigicon Infla10 X is generally preferred because it is believed to provide more rigidity than the Rigicon Infla10 AX. I’ve also heard that this may be based on the assumption that the same principle applies as with the AMS 700 CX vs. LGX, where the CX is generally considered to provide greater rigidity than the LGX.
Apparently, urologists in Flanders apply similar reasoning to the Rigicon Infla10 X vs. Rigicon Infla10 AX, although I’m not sure whether this assumption is actually supported by experience or data for Rigicon.
I’ve also heard that in Wallonia, surgeons tend to use the Rigicon Infla10 AX instead. One possible reason for this regional difference may be the way urologists are trained. If a surgeon who trains other urologists has a strong preference for one particular implant or approach, that preference may be passed on to the doctors they train, who may then pass it on to the next generation.
A few questions:
- If you have had both the Rigicon Infla10 X and Rigicon Infla10 AX:
- Did you notice a meaningful difference in rigidity or resistance to bending?
- Did you notice any difference in the upward angle/position when fully inflated?
- Did you notice any actual difference in length gain between the two models?
- Did you notice a meaningful difference in rigidity or resistance to bending?
- If you have only had one of the two models, how would you describe its rigidity, resistance to bending, and upward angle when fully inflated?
- My understanding is that the Rigicon Infla10 X does not have significant lengthwise expansion. Does this mean that the penis essentially remains the same length when the implant is deflated versus fully inflated, because the cylinders themselves do not change significantly in length?
- For those with a Rigicon Infla10 AX, keeping in mind that with the Rigicon Infla10 X the penis essentially does not increase in length when the implant is inflated, do you notice a meaningful increase in penile length as you inflate the Rigicon Infla10 AX?
- For those with an Rigicon Infla10 X, does the penis mainly become thicker when you inflate it, or do you also notice an increase in length?
