Try deflating the pump first. Even though it may be flacid, squeeze the penis and deflate button at the same time, for a few seconds. Then, give the pump a quick hard squeeze. You should be able to feel it kind of click. Now its ready to pump.

Good luck,
pianoman

Try squeezing harder. Things are rather stiff and uncooperative until they have broke in a bit. You can't break it by squeezing too hard, so try that and see if you can get a few pumps in. I think I got 7 or 8 pumps the first few times. Now if I squeeze my penis so it is really flat, I can pump 40 times. Get the idea?

My doctor recommends squeezing using the area of the nad between the base of the thumb and the edge of the hand. He thinks it gives you a more stable grip.

Many guys report difficulty squeezing the pump bulb at first ... this will change once the cylinders stretch out a bit.

Do you have the "keychain" AMS pump that is intended to be used for practice. That is one that the doc usually delivers to the patient so he can see what the pump looks like inside his body. In my case, squeezing that pump takes similar pressure to squeezing the real pump inside my scrotum. If your real pump is a lot harder than the keychain pump, I suggest you get your doc to watch you do a pumping in his office to be sure you are doing it correctly and to help you get the procedure working.

I always use the two-hand pump method described in the post by Bionic_by_AMS. Using two hands may help you.
