So here's an update for those who folowed my story or are thinking about implant surgery.
My surgery was June 25th. I stayed in the hospital overnight being given IV antibiotics 'round the clock and was discharged about noon the next day. I took oral antibiotics for a week beforehand and two weeks after. Dr. Karpman had me return for follow-up in one week and deflated and then fully inflated the implant and URGED me to pump it up as much as possible and as fully as I could tolerate given that it would be painful. At three weeks he gave me clearance to engage in intercourse. I had some initial problems with my AMS 700 LGX autoinflating but that has resolved. I was never real big, at about 5.5 inches and I can now inflate to 5.0. I'm hopeful I will reach my original (age 20) length. An added benefit is that my uninflated dick is also about 5.0 (Far longer, thicker and heavier than before) and I enjoy the confidence that gives me too.
I'm a totally happy camper. The only issue I am having is my pump is adhered to the scrotum at one tiny patch and that keeps the pump too far forward. I'm working on "peeling" it loose and have had about 50% success. Maybe Dr. K. can finish the job if I haven't when I see him in about six weeks.

How do you describe the patch where your pump is adhered to your scrotum?

I am 4 weeks out of SECOND implant. First one (AMS MS700LGX) was installed on July 9, 2013 and removed on August 6, 2013 because of infection. During the second surgery, after completely flushing out my scrotum and "empty" cavernosa with 5 different sterilizing flushes, they immediately installed another complete AMS MS700LGX.

I now have what feels like a 1/4" "thick pad" attached to the top of my pump bulb and pump box. It is slowly getting less sore and shrinking but it still makes pumping impossible because it is hard to squeeze the pump bulb and almost impossible finding the deflate button. Is this what you mean by "one tiny patch" adhered to your scrotum?

Bob,
I had a lot of initial swelling in the scrotum at is now almost completely resolved. currently most of the pump is free from the scrotal skin. However, there is a little patch of scrotal tissue, about the area of half a dime, that is attached to the front of the pump ball. It's not painful and the skin is thin. Thus the button is easy to feel. My incision was obove teh penis and I had a drain overnight in the hospital. Both of these factors are assumed to reduce scrotal swelling.

Yes the pump ball is hard to squeeze at first ... this will become easier over time as the cylinders stretch a little.

I will add that initially pumping and deflating were very uncomfortable. However, Dr. Karpman was very emphatic that pumping is critical to both gains in size and correcting any asymetires between the cylinders and and deviations due to scarring. One of my cylinders was not as deeply imbedded in the glans, probably there was a one-eighth in difference. They are now complete even.
