I have questions about the semi rigid implant. Who has it and what has your experience been like? Is hiding it an issue, or have you embraced your new found manhood and do not give a damn?

This is depressing. The only posts I get back (2) are negative. This is not about impressing anybody. This is about getting function back. If only 10% of people get the semi rigid implant, they have a reason for doing so.

The reason for low numbers on semi-rigid implants are that they are old technology and are now mainly used when the patient has reasons why an inflatable will not work; such as low manual dexterity.

I can only remember one guy here who got a semi-rigid implant, and that was on a revision surgery after an infection. I don't know what the frequency of semi-rigid implants is overall, but the percentage of people who post here is much less than 10%. I doubt its even 1%. So, don't be surprised if you get few responses. And, since almost everyone here decided against the semi-rigid for one reason or another, don't be surprised at a lack of positive responses. I'm not aware of any doc who recommends the semi-rigid unless it is the only option for some reason, but perhaps there are some. I have read many reasons not to get one. But, if you have a doc that is recommending one for you, do yourself a favor and consult with a doc who doesn't normally recommend semi-rigid and at least hear the other side of the story. You could of course, be one of the small minority where this is the best option.
