is scheduled for me at Munster Community Hospital, IN.
Doctor called and ordered overnight outpatient hospital stay.
One hour IV antibiotics prior to surgery.
He keeps it inflated 75% overnight with a compress to
avoid bleeding. Next morning checks and takes the catheter out.

He does two different scrubbings prior to surgery
to control the issue of infection.

Thought you guys might like to hear these details.

Thanks much Techman !
I skipped all of the other treatment options after researching them heavily.
My doc concurs; they all have unnatural issues and side effects. Only the implant
provides for an element of spontaneity, everything else is more or less a "planned job"
to be "done". - Am aware of the patience for healing time and no more pain eventually
at the end of this "penile tunnel".

How was your recovery and overall evaluation ?

Had mine successfully done with AMS 700 LCX.
Doctor Mai left it 70 % inflated upon completion of surgery
and had a compress on it for about 20 hours.
Ordered tight jock trap upon release from hospital to hold up scrotum tight, again
lowering the chance for swelling. He lowered the inflation to 10%.
Icing it frequently is desired, thus minimal swelling on scrotum. Penis swelling
is getting better as well. Bruising is normal as is swelling for even
some weeks. I have hardly any discomfort, only taking Tylenol
not even regularly.
This was done at Munster Community Hospital, Indiana, ranked one among the 50
best hospitals in the USA. The overnight outpatient care was outstanding.

Doctor's guidelines say: Less active = less swelling of scrotum and penis.
Thus, I do just that and it is true indeed. First week should be taken
extremely lightly, lots of rest and sleep.
I admit, it is a "trip of patience" to deal with the after care.
My wife helps with the antibiotic ointment of the top scrotum stitches 3x per day.
I was allowed to shower 48 hours past surgery, no soap on wound.

Doctor released me with the remark and eye movement: "Bud, Surgery was perfect, you will like the
outcome"

He sees me one week later and plans to start the cycling already !

Thus far my recommendation is very high for Dr. Mai.
He is a very professional no nonsense type doctor and is only interested in
high quality work, not quantity. This I felt on my first visit recently and we planned
the date of action. Excellent address in the Chicago area, offices in Merrillville and Munster IN.
