Well, taking the plunge, March 11 getting an AMS 700 implant, and vasectomy. Worried, but looking forward also. Getting implant on a Tuesday, taking rest of the week off,, is that long enough?

Thanks.

Depends what you do for work but I'd say a minimum of two weeks.

Good luck

If you are having it done with an infrapubic incision, you MIGHT be able to get away with it if your job is not very physical. Penoscrotal incision, no way.

I took a total of 17 days off. That was just the right amount for me to drive my desk. I think the biggest thing was going back to the doc to get the thing completely deflated. That allowed me to make everyone happy. I saw Dr. Kramer on day 16. Prior to that the shaft wanted to be free and the balls wanted support. One was happy and the other was not unless I laid on the couch naked with a pillow under my balls. I was 1000 percent better within min of Dr. Kramer giving me a full deflate. I think I walked about a mile and half to a restaurant right after he deflated me. Prior to that there was no way I could sit at a desk or be anywhere for any length of time. The first two weeks back to work I was a little slow getting in or out of my chair and in and out of the van. After that, things pretty much returned to normal for daily activities. I had my surgery June 20th and by August 10th I was running up and down the Potomac in a Bass Boat. I think I kept the speed around 45 or so instead of 60 though. LOL

Two things that may help after your surgery. The pills that make you pee dark orange for the first week or so, will help take the sting out of peeing after having the catheter in. Jock itch cream may help because of the inevitable drip every time you put it back in your pants the first two months or so.

I had scrotal incision I am 69 and in excellent shape. It was 3 weeks before I could sit in a chair at my desk at work. It was a good 5 weeks before all the soreness was gone and about 8 weeks for all the swelling to go. I had Titian with a quick release pump installed.

Thanks everyone, I have told work at least a week, probably more. I have a job where part of my day is at desk, part is on road.
