So, I did it. I finally got my implant yesterday March 3rd, 2014. Made all arrangements about six weeks ago and scheduled my surgery for a time that was convenient to me. Had plenty of time to do all of the lab work, take meds to correct my mild peyronie’s, did daily VED therapy to re-stretch my penis back to what god gave me, got an EKG and a nuclear stress test and had plenty of time to get my insurance to agree to pay for this procedure. My total out of pocket will be about $1500 USD.
My Doctor installed a 21 cm AMS 700 LGX, so far so good. I was scheduled for the procedure at 0900. The start of the surgery was a bit late because the surgery just before mine delayed the doctor. I think he had a total of 12 procedures scheduled for that day I was the second one. Prior to the surgery, the Anesthesiologist gave me a little something to relax me and I sort of doze off and sudden I opened my eyes and I was told it was all done. LOL it was over before I knew it had started. I was a bit sore but no pain… go figure.
This doctor installs the prosthesis from the top of the penis. I watched his video and it seems like it is less invasive to do it this way. What he does is more like an insertion than a dissection. He left the prosthesis fully inflated and I spent the night in the hospital with a catheter and a drain; that in it self was a bit uncomfortable but again… no pain. He bandaged the new penis pretty snuggly and it was pointing straight up… a bit embarrassing if you must know. One of the nurses came to do something for me and she was magnificently top heavy… in a very nice way. I think she caught me taking a tiny peak at her cleavage and then saw the raging hard on … and she was a bit standoffish after that… dang! I mean, I was not gawking or nothing like that. It was just a little glance… that’s all! Since the surgery I have had a total of one pain pill (mostly to help me sleep with my member in full staff) and took another pain pill this morning prior to the doctor removing the catheter. Turned out to be an excellent idea.
Any way, today, first thing in the morning (about 0800) the doctor came by my hospital room and removed the bandaged from the new me and I got to take a peak at it for the first time. I have to say, I was very impressed with the results. This is when he removed the catheter and the drain and I’m going ouch, ouch, ouch and the doctor told me … that’s funny most of my patients say good job! Wohoo! Fantastic! so I said ouch, ouch good job! Wohoo! Fantastic! ouch! Yawee! He really did a great job; I’m very pleased.
Removing the catheter was fun, in a very intense sort of way… after he removed the drain. That was fun too but not as much fun as the catheter… I have no swelling, I have a little discoloration most of it from using the VED device prior to the surgery to maximize the size of my member and help restore it to it’s former self. He then deflated the device to what he told me it was at the 60% level (no more raging hard on but still a better hard on that I had when I was 50 years old) and told me that I had to pee at least 100 ml of urine before the hospital could release me. Well, I drank two litters of water and had the 100 ml in no time, then did it twice more for about 250 ml-300 ml each time. Needless to say I was released from the hospital. I then drove myself to the airport and currently I’m waiting for my plane to leave.
I said this in one of my earlier posts. I opted to have a doctor that specialized in implants. Did my homework and this doctor came highly recommended. Trouble was that I don’t live in the state that he practices so I flew. It was totally worth extra logistic troubles to make this happen. In a week I get to fly back for a day to do a post-op appointment. He will then run me through the process of inflating and deflating and will have me practice that two-three times a day every day for another week. On the third week he want me to take my new implant out for a spin… Told my wife that I am under doctor’s orders… LOL … I am … really! No lie!
One of the interesting things he said about the procedure where they dissect the penis from the bottom is that there is so much trauma that the doctors make the patient wait for six weeks before inflating the device for the first time and he said that waiting for six week you miss the opportunity to get the penis to stretch and get used to the prosthesis before minimal scarring and encapsulation sets in. Makes sense to me. My doctor sent me home with a 60% inflation of the prosthesis. I have to say, it is going to take some getting used to having a 60% hard on for a week. On Friday, 48hrs after being released from the hospital he wants me to take a 20 min warm bath and start gently pulling on the pump to make sure it does not heal in a position near the top of the scrotum. This will make it easier to inflate and deflate the prosthesis in at a later time.
Anyway yey! Got my implant! Finally I’m back on the saddle after three long years absence.

Re: I did it!
Hi,
Thanks for the post about your recent implant and the almost nothing but good news that you are reporting so far. I'm scheduled to have an implant done on April 3 and just about ready to start my doctor visits for the measurement, clearance, etc.
I hope I have the same results as you have so far. I think the same LGX 700 will be used in my case also. I'll find out on Friday.
I was debating the pros and cons for the last three years or so but when my uro told me that I had everything to gain by having it done that made up my mind for me.
I'm really looking for ward to the procedure and can't wait for my life to start over again after ten years of pills and rationed sex episodes. I have a lot of making up to do with my wife and can't wait to start.
Please keep posting of your progress... I'll be using it as a guide for following you in a month.
Continued good luck !

Re: I did it!
Would you please share the name and location of the doctor?

Congrats Gf, it's reassuring to hear positive posts such as yours. I don't know if you have seen this post of "jeremc" 's journal but the photo documentation is great in how it closely follows his recovery from day 1(after pre op flaccid pic on page 1, other pics begin on page 7) through six months. His recovery seemed pretty rapid, the daily changes in improvement for him were surprisingly quick, at least from a visual perspective. The link is below, be well and happy healing, peace...

I used Dr. Edward Karpman, in Los Gatos
http://www.elcaminourology.com/
he performed the above penis surgery (see the video at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEpEPl81VKk)
my experience with him has been over the top. He's very knowledgeable and on my first visit he addressed most all of my question even before I had a chance to ask them. Awesome!

Thanks for sharing, yes, I read his post. nice journal of his experience. My bruising is nowhere near as bad as his turned out to be. I think his Dr. did a wonderful job. You can actually see jeremc happiness level raise during the picture taking he did. That's so cool! I was thinking yesterday that ... yes, this is gonna work out fine for me, yay!
thanks for sharing!
