Eid versus Kramer?

In a few months I will be getting a penile implant. I'm trying to decide which doctor to choose. Either Eid or Kramer. Kramer is quite a bit cheaper. He claims to have a 1/500 infection rate. He hasn't seen had patients from abroad getting a penile implant, who faced complications.
Eid has the no-touch-technique. Furthermore his clinic is private, which he claims lowers the risks of infections as less people come to his place spreading bacterias.
They are both high-volume surgeons, who perform at least 300 penile implants a year.
I have to pay the surgery out of my own pocket. I want the best surgeon to do this as I'm in the beginning of my twenties. I don't want anymore failures. But yet, if those doctors are equally professional and experienced, I would go with the cheaper one.
What would you do?

Hi tryfied, I am sorry to hear you have ed in your 20s. I was in your shoes too I had ed when I was 20 years old. I went 7 years and lived with it. Then viagra came out and that worked great for 14 years. Bottom line I went to Dr Kramer for my implant. I got Dec 11 2013. Hes very professional. And did a great job. I dont think you will go wrong with Dr Eid either. I just prefer Dr Kramer he will put the biggest implant in he can. I hope this gives you some insight.

Thanks mate. Yes it is very sad. But I must look ahead.
I saw one of your previous posts in which you mentioned that your first implant gave you an infection. Was this with Dr. Kramer?

Yeah, it wasnt the Drs fault. It just happened. It was his first infection in 3 years. He is a very good Dr and very professional. I dont have the infection now. Im ok now. It was a terrible mental and physical experience. But it was a fluke. 1 in 300 or 500 I think.

Would it be possible to tell a little more? How was it not his fault? I'm no expert but one infection out of 500 seems like a very good rate - and maybe too good.
A thing that surprised me about Kramer is that he doesn't give the patients anti-inflamatories prior to surgery. I know some implants are impregnated with anti-inflamatories already which probably makes the initial anti-inflamatory unnecessary.
The credibility of the surgeon is a big consideration for me though.
Maybe I just worry too much.

Yeah, It wasnt his fault. It was a fluke. My body just wouldnt take the implant. At that time. He did everything like he normally does. The pump stuck to my right testicle and my scrotum skin. My scrotum swole to the size of a grapefruit. If you want to know it was very painful. For about 2 and a half weeks. But Andrew told me he was very sorry. And he helped me in everyway to get me better. Hes does good work it just didnt take for me the first time.

I went to Dr. Kramer, I live in Miami. They are the top 2 guys in the world, no doubt. They both have exceptional infection rates, reportedly Eid had 2 last year, Kramer had 1 in December, I think the man has posted on this site- in the end I believe Kramer treated the infection and put in a semirigid (salvage) and the patient did fine, Eid probably does the same.
Bottom line, I've heard Kramer is younger, faster, perhaps a bit better. I would guess Dr. Kramer has lower overhead being in Baltimore at a University setting vs Eid who is in Park Avenue in NYC, that's the only reason he's cheaper. In the end probably both a superb implant surgeons, you can't go wrong.

t,
If your plan is to fly in, consider which airport might present best convenience to you. Both guys seem to certainly cater to fly-ins but one city might work better for you. Just from what I read here on FT, I would be like you having a hard time making a decision on which surgeon. Both have numbers and skill which would be my first priorities then facility used would be my next priority...Kramer might take the edge here. Not sure i buy the point of private clinic having less risk, but I am being real picky on the point per these two surgeons. There are certainly others who have great skills and numbers although perhaps not at the 300 mark...but close, D Milam at Vanderbilt (Nashville) or even my surgeon in Dallas, Allan Morey, who got quite the writeup I understand in a issue of Texas Monthly magazine.
You are on the right track, don't you just hate decisions. You will be right by any mentioned. "get er done"

My very recent experience (4/9) with Dr. Kramer was exceptional. He is a good listener and focused on my personal questions and concerns. Within the 24 hours after my surgery he visited me 3 times to see how I was doing. Since I have been back home in Colorado he has emailed me twice with followup. During this whole difficult process he made me feel comfortable, confident and that he was paying attention to me as an individual and not just another patient.
I spent one day in the hospital. I am not sure that is available in a clinic. Also Kramer's preference is general anesthetic and I think Eids is a local of some kind.
I am so early into the recovery that I cannot comment on the results...but the process has been exceptional.

Tcaspers comments on Kramer would certainly be added credits if I were weighing the choice. Although "bedside" and the feeling of true interest in ME, were not my surgeons better points,I believe it helps in overall acceptance and mindset for the surgeon. The main priorities I would have, and mentioned in above post, you have covered, so these are things that could very well help in decision. B
