Has anyone had the experience of having a Coloplast and then revision to an AMS or vice versa? That's my upcoming plight.

I first had a Small-Carrion type; thereafter an AMS 700 CX without Parylene; then a Mentor Alpha I. Now Titan OTR.

May I ask you a few questions?
How long did the first three implants last before you needed another one and how long have you had the fourth one?
What were the reasons for getting the other implants?
Also, what's being your experience once you had the surgeries.

Well, the Small-Carrion would have lasted eternally... except that one day it would have become too small, since corpora usually grow with an implant for a long time. But, despite of it having been so simple and practical (put it in whatever lady whenever you want to ) - it was rather unbearable. Too uncomfortable. Not even malleable - ever rigid!
For commodity reasons I had it replaced with the AMS in 91, but at that time the AMS implants were not very long-living. So I wore it off at last... That's been the reason for the Alpha I. And after having it worn off, too (at the intersection between reservoir and connection tube - the cylinders were still fine!) I went for the Titan.

did you lose length each time you had the surgery? or is it roughly the same

Hi this is Bigtime071. I am getting ready for my third implant operation. I had a coloplast titan 23cm one touch the first time then got a bad infection. Then a Ams Malleable implant now in 5 more weeks the Ams Lgx lengthening implant. I hope this is the last one for at least 15 years. Then I will be 58 years old. I havent seen too many people with multiple implants on this site. I think I read where one guy had 5 different implants. I feel sorry for him. Thats alot of trauma in the groin area.
