Implanted Friday am....my account so far

So I bit the bullet and went to the final frontier. I felt like I know a lot of what was to occur from reading this forum. Pretty certain my wife was worried but she let me do what I told her I felt I needed to do.
The pre-op was pretty standard. I woke up in my room and apparently was nauseous - don't remember much at all. I then woke up and was pretty lucid with a little pain. The doctor came by and said the surgery went good but he had trouble getting the pump in my smallish scrotum but he did succeed. And, for some reason, he had to make a small incision to help with placing the resorvoir.
He had my penis packed with gauze and a jock strap. I have not seen much bruising and the penis is just swollen a bit. The tip is tender though.
Had a terrible night though, mainly because I have a bad back and was positioned awkwardly.I was just miserable. The Dilaudid helped though. An, somehow, my good right knee felt like it got sprained ?? This and my back were really hurting me.
They took out the catheter Saturday morning and it hurt badly, but only for a few seconds. It was about this time I was thinking I was doubting having this done in the first place.
Then, they wouldn't let me go home early Saturday afternoon because I had too much urine in my bladder. I was irritated and walked six laps around the large wing, in an effort to free up some of the urine. Finally, after filling 4 urinals halfway, the doctor reluctantly let me go. I DID NOT want that catheter to be re-inserted. The removal of the drain was not too bad. I am able to sit up and I took a walk around the block, as advised by my doctor. I have been taking the pain meds around the clock. I seem to doing pretty good all in all. I am excited to see this thing in action!
