Implant soon! A few questions tho

Postby Tom Jones » Mon May 11, 2015 8:31 pm

June 11th is the day scheduled for Implant surgery. Had a Radical Prostatectomy 16 months ago and did not recover erectile function.
A Few Questions:
Where was the reservoir placed: I was told the options are in the Pelvis area or under the stomach muscles? Any advise on where is best? With the Prostate surgery and a Hernia surgery is the pelvis area more risky because of scare tissue? Does the reservoir stay in place in the stomach area?

Going with the Titan. Can I get feedback on the girth most men have with this implant? Actual measurement=

Do you leave the hospital partial inflated? I've gotten conflicting info: One doc said at 70% over the first night then deflated for 6 weeks. Done this way so full reservoir will take shape in body.
Another doc said leave at 50% and stay that way till activation.
Thanks

Hi Tom,
I was implanted with a 22cm (20 cm plus 2 cm rear extenders) Titan in June 2014 by Dr Douglas Milam at Vanderbilt in Nashville. My reservoir was placed under the abdominal wall. A slight bulge shows on my abdomen about 3 inches or so above my penis. I am 5'10" and weigh 170 lbs. I guess if I were larger person it might not show at all.

Fully pumped I am 6" in circumference at the base of my penis - that is the largest place. I generally don't pump to the absolute max when I make love to my wife because it is not comfortable to her. Fully pumped my penis does not feel natural because it is about as hard as a railroad spike. I back off a little from the max. I suspect mileage will vary on the girth depending on what you started with. The fully pumped penis is not round - it has a somewhat flattened shape. I am 6" long with the tape pressed against the pubic bone. Both length and girth are about the size I was back in the day prior to prostatectomy - a little over 4 years ago - maybe a quarter inch shorter. I guess I was fortunate to not lose much but even if I did lose some, I believe I would still be pleased because it is such a blessing to be able to make love to my wife of 42 years again without worrying about losing my erection. She loves it too.

I was pumped about 50% and remained that way till activation at the six week point.

I do wish you the best - I believe you will find that this will turn out to be a great decision that you have made.

75 years old, Severe ED since Robotic Prostatectomy in 2010. Titan implanted 2014 by Dr Milam. Titan failed (tubing leak near cylinder) May 2017. Revision by Dr. Kramer on 7/26/17. Replaced cylinders and pump - upsized to 22 cm Titan, 1 cm RTE.

Every doctor is different. My situation...Day 1: 100% pumped; Day 2 - 7: deflated to 50/60%; Day 8 begin cycling.

That's correct. I was also able to have sex after 3 weeks.

Gentlemen,
I'm 1.5 days from my surgery. One bit of information I wish I understood before now.
I thought I was told that the implant will overpower the plaque and push the penis straight. I guess this is true only after modeling and only by breaking up the plaque and then keep the penis pumped up so the calcifications do not rejoin. When the implant is inserted, the curve you had naturally will be apparent with the implant. Its the modeling and pumping up that helps straighten the penis.
Questions. Since I'm erect I'm having an extremely difficult time peeing. I need to stand over the walk in shower and pee off the shower wall. It takes forever to complete this process (5minutes to pee). I'm not sure if this is just from being pumped and trying to pee with an erection or if its bruising from modeling has restricted my urethra? any advise? I was catheterized for a day and peed like a race horse.

Another question: Since it feel almost fully erect , I'm sure the implant has trapped blood in the penis shaft. Isn't this dangerous(Paraprism)for the remaining natural penile tissue? This erection feels almost 80% erection. If I'm staying like this for 4 weeks isn't that dangerous.

Also My Bone pressed flaccid length was 6.5" right before surgery but now I'm only 5".Will this improve?

Trouble urinating at first is normal. Will get better in time. No, no danger of priapism. Size should improve with time and an agressive pumping regimen after you are cleared to cycle your implant. How much are you pumped up now?

Hi Ed, I think the doctor said I'm 50% pumped. Maybe he said 70%

5 days post implant and peeing is a lot better especially considering I'm semi erect.
I'm black and blue but its getting better. But two more concerns:
My pain comes from two areas. MY ball sack is pinched around the release valve area. Almost like its stitched to it or some vacuum suction is pulling my sack around the release valve. Second pain area is I feel parts of the implant have such hard creases in them, its highly sensitive to the touch or anything else like underwear touching it. Anyone else experienced these feeling?

Good day
I got a Titan in March
My pump body attached itself to the wall of my scrotum
Doc said it was perfect, it will always be in the same place and orientation. At first it felt like it was pulling on the scrotum and like I was being poked by needles but that all went away. It attaches itself by scar tissue is what i believe he said. I too have a kink in the tube at the base of the penis Doc said should be fine. The tubes of the Titan are more ridged than the other. This caused a lot of discomfort at first and some discomfort now depending on underwear The head on the left side can become sensitive also. All discomfort now is related to the underwear. I tend to partially inflate to lessen the kink and wear john sievers briefs or the jet brief my wife bought me. Due to the more ridged state than normal flacid general briefs are uncomfortable and boxers tend to give the head fabric burn. What you are going through sounds typical and 8-10 weeks post op you will have adjusted to the new normal.
Good luck

ED all my life started with shots until oral meds became available the quit working went back to shots u til they quit then got my implant from Dr. Jodie U of Minnesota
Couldn't be happier
