Girth Loss and Pre-op Penis shape

Postby btraws5 » Thu Jun 11, 2015 2:11 pm

Hi all,

Just introduced myself in a different thread with more general questions, but this is specific and I think could help some people out.

I am wondering if the girth outcome post-op is correlated with where your girth is coming from pre-op. I know from reading other threads (and porn :) that some guys have cylindrical/triangular penis shapes in which the corpus spongiosum (underside of penis) is quite prominent and contributes to girth. Others (such as myself) have more of an oval shape, and the spongiosum does not play as large of a part in girth, with the corpus cavernosa contributing a much higher percentage.

Those who have done the surgery please chime in. What was the shape of your penis pre-op? How much girth loss (if any) did you sustain post-op? Do you feel it is mostly a result of lack of engorgement of spongiosum? Are there those with pre-op oval shaped penises who also lost girth? And are there potentially other variables at play here that have not been mentioned?

I'm 26 years old and have had severe ED for about 2 years, and my main concern besides infection is losing girth, as I am already on the skinny side of things.

Thanks!
John

Hey John nice of you to join us here on Franktalk. You'll find this site to be a blessing, especially guys like us in the younger generation suffering from Ed. I'm 33 years old and have suffered with Ed for about 12 years. I'm grateful we have options now to help correct Ed, imagine having Ed with no options such as meds., injections, or implant!! Anyway I understand your concerns and have been in the same boat as you. Your worried about size loss. This was ALWAYS my biggest concern! I hounded many people on here about it, which they was all very helpful. The most important thing to consider is getting the best surgeon possible! Ever heard that saying you get what you pay for? I researched so many surgeons till I found mine, Dr. Gerard Henry. He's been great! He considered my concerns and he aggressively sized my implant. He told me the size of my implant and I was so relieved. Another thing you must realize is that the two big name implants, AMS and the Titan, have their own pluses and minuses. AMS 700 has the ability to expand in length and girth, this allows the implant to deflate back to a normal flaccid state. I have read A LOT of blogs on here where people have also increased their size back to pre-Ed length with the AMS. AMS really seems to be a huge favorite to people who have them because of this. The Titan allows expansion in girth but not length. The cylinders are also bigger than the AMS. So the Titan offers the girth benefit but you will not be able to inflate to a normal flaccid state. People often say they are showers with the Titan. The thing you gotta reliaze is that after injections there's not much of an option left unless you want to live celebrant. You might really have to take a hit on some loss depending on your doctor but at least you'll have something and something is better than nothing. Then work it out by pumping and try to get the size back. Keep in mind also that the recovery period for an implant is long, so the sooner you get it done you'll be on the road. I'm at week three post op and believe me it sucks! Longest I ever had a boner and got three more weeks till I get to cycle it. Hit me up if you got any questions or need any advice. Take care and God bless.

I too am relatively small in girth (less than 5) and although some gain in surgery, it is minimal. However, because I was what many would label a "turtle" pre-surgery, I gained considerably in flaccid. I have no disappointment with my surgeon's choice of Titan, I put my trust in his abillities, expertise, and suggestions. I am happy with outcome and I know someone else who is also. So much to be said of a good firm erection that is there "until the button is pushed".

billy, would you mind saying where you were getting most of your girth pre-op? Was the spongiosum a big factor or were you more oval shape pre-op?
