For Those With Weak Hands

One problem I have had with my inflatable implant pump was I had to steady the pump with one hand while trying to pump with the other. With one hand pumping due to my arthritis, I just didn't have the strength or leverage to go beyond a point.
Short of trying to use a pair of pliers (which I have considered), recently I tried something else that helped me get some additional leverage and pumping power that may help someone having the same problem as me with a weak grip.
I'll try to explain ...
I took a child's spoon and "cupped" the pump in the concave side of the spoon. Holding the poon in place and steadying it with the fore fingers of both hands, I am able to press the pump on the other side with both thumbs against the spoon. This gave me a whole lot more pressing capability using the spoon to steady the pump as well as providing a rigid surface to bear against.
Let me know if anyone has any luck using this technique.
