Hey gents. Just signed on with Frank today. I have gotten much amusement, and reassurance, from you all for a few weeks. Thank you. I'd like to run my story by you and if anyone has the time to respond to anything in particular, I'd be obliged.
I'm a 72 yr old who started the pills 12 yrs ago. Gradually less effective. Easy to erect (horny all the time), just wouldn't stay for more than a few min. You all know the drill. A yr ago I started with the injections--fabulous. But about 8 mo ago I had an accident. In bed. She on top. She missed. I yelled. It didn't rupture, like some do, but the trauma, or bend, dislodged some plague, scarring, which caused symptoms of Peyronies. From then on, pain, esp. the next day. Mucho. So I faced a deal of only twice a week max, or something else. My PP says my testosterone count is off the charts (he didn't have to tell me--horny all the time), so I studied up on implants.
It seemed like Perito, in Miami, was best for me, so I made the 1500 mi trek to see him. He could tell that I was not yet convicted, so he gave me an alternate program which gave me a little success after 3 mo, but not enough. Wish I was younger---I think a yr on it might have been a big improvement. If anyone's interested in that, I'll be glad to share detail. Anyway, I got the Titan 20 days ago, and it was not a piece of cake. Still have to keep Tylenol in me all the time. I remember watching a 10 min interview of a Perito patient who went back to work in 2 days. Yikes.
I should reserve any profound conclusions for a while, because I have a long way to go before I can see the finished product. At this point, I'm not sure I'd do it again. Just not sure. Frankly, I wasn't real happy with Dr Perito. Didn't see him post op, and he hasn't answered my emails. Many of you have said not to worry about things like a rock hard pump, inflating, deflating, improvement over time, etc. Sure hope that's true. I still haven't been able to completely deflate, cause my penis is too sore to squeeze or bend. So right now what I have is a 4 in protrusion sticking my trousers out in front. And that's another thing that's disappointing. When I was young I was an even 6 in. (and it irritates me when surgeons like Perito say that 100% of guys over estimate pre-op size). Well, pre op I was a tad less than 51/2 in. Now I'm less than 5. Bummer.
So if I can inf/def in another week, even with the pain, I will consider trying it out (gently) with my girlfriend. Any thoughts on that, guys? Also, I think it's never going to lay down totally flaccid, relaxed, even when healed and completely deflated. No more showers at the health club. Ha. They really do need to develop a better system. I can't see it improving enough to become easy to deflate. Hard to get a grip on that little valve, much less squeeze it hard enough.
So, in hindsight, but not absolute, I think I'd have better off to go with someone like Kramer, and probably the AMS. Fellas, if you have any thoughts, I'd love to have them. Thanks.

Hi Kidder,
I got my Titan about 14 months ago so memories of the surgery and healing have faded somewhat. However, my doctor (Milam) did not want me to try to inflate/deflate till 6 weeks after surgery, and I followed his instructions. I think I would have been too tender at 20 days to be able to do much with it. I realize from the forum that others had a much shorter healing time than me and started earlier than I did. I know that you will get better at inflating/deflating with practice, and it is a lot easier to practice when you are healed. Maybe you are like me and heal a little slower than some others.
As to size, I lost about 1/2" from where I was years ago, but think I gained a little girth. That seems to vary a lot. The point is I did not know my full size for several months and that was after I pumped up to max many times to try to stretch myself. It was pretty uncomfortable doing that for the first several weeks after I started, and remember I did not start until 6 weeks after surgery.
From my experience, the Titan when fully deflated will not hang like a natural penis. It remains somewhat straight and hangs at about 4 o'clock. You just have to get used to that. From your post, it does not sound like you are fully deflating.
A number of people on this forum have had good success with Perito's work. My advice is to give it some time and do your part to practice especially once you are healed.
My hope is that within a few months, you will be as happy with your Titan as I am with mine. It is not perfect, but it works every time as long as I want it to work.
Best to you.
Bill
I hope that in a few months, you are as pleased with your Titan as I am with mine

75 years old, Severe ED since Robotic Prostatectomy in 2010. Titan implanted 2014 by Dr Milam. Titan failed (tubing leak near cylinder) May 2017. Revision by Dr. Kramer on 7/26/17. Replaced cylinders and pump - upsized to 22 cm Titan, 1 cm RTE.
Re: New member hellos
Don't have a implant but from what I have read on here you are close to normal. Most guys don't go back to work in 2 days. As for the size that should improve as you start to cycle your implant after you heal more.Give it time to heal some guys just take longer to heal. It will be wroth it in the long run! Good Luck God Bless
Re: New member hellos
Give it time. Plenty of time. You will be able to realistically see your results in a few more weeks and with arousal. DO NOT TRY TO MEASURE AND JUDGE YOUR RESULTS UNLESS AROUSED, OTHERWISE YOU WILL NOT EXPERIENCE THE FULL RESULTS. My penis does engorge and gets bigger when I'm aroused.
I agree that the Titan when fully deflated will not hang like a natural penis, but It's not something that someone will look at it and say you have an implant or that your penis is erect.

Re: New member hellos
Andrew Kramer did my implant in 2008. At the time, he preferred Titan slightly over AMS, but I read recently that he now prefers AMS because it provides a more natural flaccid state. As BillinAl noted, you will get used to the slightly inflated state of the Titan, and you likely are not fully deflated at present. Also, I am your age and also echo the remarks about not being in a big hurry. I didn't do anything with my implant for at least 6 weeks after surgery, and then had the "hard pump" issue that so many others have noted. It takes a fair amount of practice to get good at operating the device, so just hang in there and be patient with yourself.
Dave, 80, Maryland - Implant (Titan) 2008 by Dr. Andrew Kramer (failed Sept 2020) - never used due to a stroke that, among other things, ended my sex life.

Kidder,
Very interested in your Perito experiences as I had just about concluded his procedure (15 minutes or less) affords faster healing and nearly zero pain. But it sounds like your Perito experiences were an exception. Am interested in the specifics if you could. PM me if you wish.
Also, what regimen did Perito put you on that "might have been successful" given enough time . Many thanks.

Re: New member hellos
I really hate to comment much about Perito. Reason? Although, at day 23, I'm not real happy, I have to take into consideration the many voices on this thread that seem to recognize my concerns, and try to assure me that things will be better. I'm somewhat optimistic. So, if things work out well, then of course, Perito would be a god.
As far as the surg technique, I don't seem to be any more or less recuperated than those done by Kramer, Eid, et al. But I like having only 4 staples in my lower abs, as opposed to the other methods. My only pain is tests and penis, and they are a very little (but definite) bit better each day. I tried pumping up today, and I guess it was maybe 75%, and I had to shut it down because of the pain. But, again, deflating is the bugger for me. Hoping that when my penis is less sore, I'll be able to squeeze harder.
Now, you asked about the alt program he gave me. It's very interesting. Remember now, my problem was Peyronies symptoms. Accident in bed, almost broke it, dislodged plague, scarring, curvature, pain during sex, the whole 9 yards. 1)He wanted to keep maximum blood flow down there at all times, so he had me take a small Cialis every day, high level of L-Arginine, Vit-E. 2)He gave me two scripts. Colchicine (sp?), and Trental. Best that I could find out, Trental is not much more than a blood thinner itself, and the Colchicine is used to treat gout. I got the impression that he felt there was some benefit in the combo of the two. But the goal is to help dissolve the plaque that had built up, or in my case, been dislodged. 3)He had me buy one of those cheap little vacuum pumps, and said to use it twice a day for at least 10 min. The idea here is to work with the meds and supplements to clear the canals for blood to flow. I bought one and used it, but only about once a day--really didn't like it. But I did buy one of those screw type extenders, and used that for an hour or two each day'. Well, after 3 mo. there was some improvement. A little less pain, seemed like the scarring was less noticeable to the touch (dissolving?), and actually some growth. Minimal, but I'm sure about 1/4". That's not what I was doing it for, but it does make you think--if you were dedicated to it for a year or so..... Anyway, he kept telling me that I'd be loosing length the longer I waited. I also heard so many claims that they lost length from the surg, so I was just trying hold on til I had the surgery. As I've already stated, if I was more patient, or younger, I would have stuck with the program longer. But I still did have pain the day after sex, and I just said the heck with it. There may be some out there who could benefit from this protocol. I have to give credit to Dr Perito, he didn't have to say anything about this 4 mo ago, and I probably would have done the implant. So his ethics are probably good. I was, however, disappointed that he stood me up on my follow up visit, and didn't respond to my emails. Hope this has helped. I'll update in a couple of weeks.
