I got an email from Dr Perito's office today saying BCBS found my procedure to be medically necessary.

I guess I will get to join the brotherhood soon....Woo Hoo!

Great.
Dr. Cornell told me that BCBS was the toughest to get approval. Consequently we did lots of test to show that IPP was a necessity, then it took almost 4 months but they approved all but $225 Co-pay.

I guess because Medicare is primary BCBS gave approval within a couple days for my procedure. Good luck!

Thanks,

My BCBS is a federal plan, it seems to be easier than with the other plans. Approval took about a week and a half.

We have hit our yearly out of pocket max due to some surgeries for others in the family so this should be covered at 100%.

Yes it is but of course I get the email at the start of a four day weekend so I can't find out what dates are available or what happens next.
