Last year Dr. Milam's secretary called me several times to let me know he had no issues with doing the implant. Problem is there was not enough time before the end of the year to get it done before insurance rolled over. I've met my deductible for this year, called this morning to get it scheduled and was informed Vanderbuilt will not take United Healthcare insurance any more. Now it is back to trying to find a doc that has no issue on someone who has had 4 hernia repairs and takes united healthcare again. This is the 4th year now that I cannot seem to make it happen. Beyond depressing. d

Have you tried Kramer? U of MD Med Center accepted UHC when I had mine done in 2008. Don't know the current status, though - you could call his office and find out.

Don't know, Ali. Confused. Had mine done 6 wks ago, and I have United. Oh, but that's a supplement (AARP) to Medicare. If you're not on Med, maybe that's the difference.

I thought about it for a bit thinking why would the largest hospital in Tennessee not take insurance from the second largest provider in the United States so I called Vanderbilt billing department and inquired. They said they do take United Healthcare. Gal out and out told me that whoever told me they didn't lied, then she looked up and said Milam is a listed provider. Called Milam's office back and talked to a nice guy by the name of Alex who said he saw no problems getting it done before the end of the year. first person I talked to must be the same wench that told Donbecker54 that Dr. Milam does not do penile. Linky thing here to that story.
