Glans engorgement in men with venous leakage

Postby lapiste » Mon Sep 21, 2015 5:54 pm

Hi all,

I am 32 and have always had ED (primary ED) due to venous leakage. After years struggling with ED and trying pretty much everything in vain, I am now seriously considering an implant. My urologist told me that, in cases of venous leakage, there was only about 50% chances that the glans engorges after a prosthesis has been implanted and no factors can really predict whether the glans will engorge or not. I tried to search the scientific literature but I haven't found much (since 2010) in the databases I used (PubMed and Medline). (I'm not sure if it's because there hasn't been any recent research or because I didn't use the right keywords.)

I wonder if anyone has any info about glans engorgement in the particular case of venous leakage? From the previous threads I read, it seems like a variety of experiences exist, from no engorgement at all, to partial engorgement, to full engorgement. In one post, someone seemed to say that glanular engorgement should remain the same after surgery as it was before, which seems to conflict with what my urologist said (no possiblity to predict engorgement after the implant).

I'd love to hear the personal experiences of people who were implanted due to venous leakage. Does your glans still engorge? If not, do rings and/or viagra help?

Finally, has anyone heard of any difference between AMS and Coloplast/Titan implants with regard to glans engorgement?

Thank you very much for your help!
Implanted at 33. Sept 2016. Coloplast Titan. Venous leaks for my entire life.

I was implanted at age 35 after suffering venous leak all my life. My glans does engorge. As a rule of thumb, whatever blood flow you have to your glans now, you will keep as long as the surgery is done properly. I highly reccomend going with a top surgeon.

Thanks a lot, ED2013! It's very helpful to hear from other people who had similar experiences.
