New implant cycling concerns

Hello gents,

On Sept 24, I had surgery to correct my curvature and got a Coloplast Titan implant. My doctor was Dr Laurence Levine in Chicago. I was ecstatic to get one of the premier surgeons for this and have my insurance cover it. He made no incisions in my penis (which could be a blessing) but now it still is not perfectly straight but greatly improved and could work for penetration angling it slightly with my hands. I had some experiences feeling like I did not maintain a hard enough erection so since insurance was willing to cover an implant I went for it. Thursday, the 22nd was my follow-up. I was shown how to inflate and deflate. I did it once in the office. Inflated it at home on Thursday night to finally "take care of business". Was able to deflate though it hurt like hell and don't think I deflated fully.

Today I inflated again as I am supposed to twice a day. I however, cannot deflate. I thought I might have partially deflated but it is still somewhat hard. Finding the button and pushing causing intense pain in my testicles and scrotum. Has anyone else had this in the beginning? If so, how did you learn to do it and how long did it take for it to go away.

I was so excited to be able to have a normal fulfilling sex life and now am afraid that perhaps I made the biggest mistake of my life and will never have sex again (either because too painful and hard to deflate) or because I will have to have it removed.

Thanks

Jon

I was similar - although the external bruising and swelling had gone, inside my scrotum still had swelling for quite a few weeks longer. As that subsides the ability to inflate and deflate fully will become so much easier.

Give it a bit more time.

Dave

It will get better in time. Everyone heals different. For now, try to inflate and deflate in a warm bath. It relaxes and sooths everything down there. Ibuprofen can help as well. Also try squeezing your penis as you deflate.

You are only about 4 weeks out from surgery. I did not start cycling until 6 or 7 weeks and it still hurt quite a bit. And just about everybody has trouble with deflating. It was the hardest thing for me to do when I first started, taking a long as 30 minutes or more of playing with the darned thing. At 5 months post surgery it t now takes about 30 seconds or less to get deflated (seriously, no lie!!). In fact on one of my first attempts at cycling I ended up having to see the surgeon in emerg to get him to delfate the thing. Now, its a piece of cake. The pump is getting easier to operate but it still takes some effort. Scrotal skin is still tender from being squeezed against the bulb so often but I have a functioning organ. This is a highly invasive procedure. Just thinking about blunt finger dissection makes me grateful that I have recovered as well as I have And you will too.

Do not panic. You have not made a mistake and you will have sex again. Be patient. I did not start intercourse again until about the 8 week mark or later but everyone is different. Take care.

Thanks for all the encouragement guys. I appreciate it and it really does help one's frame of mind. I was able to find the deflate button today and finally able to deflate after about 24 hours inflated. Even in its deflated state it is somewhat erect but my penis itself felt soft like it did in the doctor's office when the PA deflated me for the first time. Since I was able to wear it "downward" into my briefs to try and train it to go downward (that is what the doctor's office suggested) I am pretty sure I had a successful deflate. Of course, makes me nervous to inflate again. But going to try and be patient and hope for the best.

Thanks again,

Jon

They're right..... Time, time, time.... Oh, and patience! It does get better and better. I am 18 months (and also 30 months) post op .... My biggest concern at this point is that I injured my right thumb and have to pump and release with my left hand. And I've done a lot a lot of fucking with my great little dick (thank you Dr Perito). Be patient... Have fun!!!

Oh... Shortly after my first implant my doctors assistant inflated and couldn't deflate me. I stayed fully and painfully inflated until my doctor returned from vacation....... nearly two weeks..... OUCH

johnkchicago, I experienced the same thing inflating and deflating. The best thing to remember when deflating it is try laying flat on your back, this will allow gravity to assist in moving the fluid back to the revisor. Check your IM's, I sent you a short message.

Reading these posts makes me nervous. I am six weeks out (surgery 9/14) and my appointment with the PA to start cycling isn't until November 9th. So I have been probably 20% inflated since day one and have been told by doc to leave it alone until then. I can only imagine now how uncomfortable that first full inflation will be. :( I must confess while biding my time I couldn't resist beating off a few times without any significant pain - maybe that's a good sign. :)

In my case it was squeezing on the pump that was painful as it was pretty much under the incision line and the pump bulb, as usual, was hard and required a lot of pressure to operate. The fully inflated cylinders themselves caused very little discomfort unless I left them that way for too long. You will know when it is time to deflate. Take it easy, be kind to yourself. As with any surgery, with time you will heal. Patience and have faith grasshopper :P
