15 days post-op

So guys, I just left my doc's office and got the green light without restrictions. To clarify, that meant at home, work (I can get back on the fire apparatus) and in the bedroom. I am not sure that I am up to the bedroom part because it is still somewhat sore when it gets pressure put against it but now it's up to me (ok, and my wife ;). I did ask my Dr. a few questions because to be honest, I have been extremely fortunate in my surgery and how fast my recovery has gone and I know that the majority of guys on here really push that you should go with one of the high volume guys (i totally understand that but when I signed up for the surgery I was not aware of that). Well anyway, when I spoke with my Dr. and asked him about the really high volume guys he agreed and explained that he actually learned the procedure from Dr. Eid in New York where he did his residency. I found that really interesting and if you are looking for another Dr. to potentially put on your "short "list (no pun intended) keep Dr Laurence O'Connor in St Paul, Mn in mind.

I still have used the new parts but as of right now at this moment, I am very happy with where this journey has gone so far. I appreciate the support that each of you have offered and hopefully I can pay back the favor.

God bless.

Scott

That's pretty amazing. I am 1 week post-op and still have some pain - not enough to take pain meds or use ice, but all the parts are still very tender to the touch. Can't imagine using the hardware a week from now either!

Well I have clearance from the doc but it is going to be a little bit yet before I put it to real use. I started inflating yesterday and I am confident that will take a while before it is totally pain free and becomes somewhat easier. Right now I am getting it somewhat inflated and maintaining it for about 10 minutes. Obviously I have a long ways to go when it comes to that. Each days is better than the last, right??!!
Have a good day.
