Hello, have been reading about implants for months. Worsening ED for about 15 years. Pills no longer work. Injections used to work great, but recently not. Otherwise healthy guy, 59 y/o. Married 40 years to very understanding, and very sexual wife. We are definitely not ready to stop having penetrating sex. Tired of the hassles, and wasted energy worrying about this. Looking for doctor recommendations far northern California. Any suggestions appreciated, Thanks,Bill.

I went to Dr.Karpman in Mountainview CA. I had my surgery on 6/14 and I like my results. You can see his site here:
www.healthy-male.com.

He does the infrapubic approach and has you deflating and inflating your pump as soon as you feel necessary. Usually after the first week he has you do this.

I'm seeing him on the 27th...
He's out of my insurance network, so they'll only pay for a "2nd opinion" consultation. So basically talk over the implant basics and take a list of cock docs in my insurance network and hope he knows at least one he'd suggest going to.

Gregor--

When you see this doc, ask him if he would consider joining your network. It's mostly a matter of paperwork. He would, of course, have to agree to their discount schedule, but he already does that if he accepts any insurance at all. If he's the one you want, it's certainly worth talking to him about it. Just a thought.

Alas, my insurance is weird. It's HealthNet, which is a fairly large company, but the HMO part is administered by a 3rd party company. One that is very specific to SF and a chain of hospitals in SF. This doc is in a different city, so.... even if he wanted to, he'd need an office in SF to join.

Have read many, many post praising implant, and I do feel it is the right choice for me now. Would, however, like to hear from those of you who have not had a completly positive experience, and why. The AMS LGX specifically
