Burning Penis 12 Months Post-Op

Roughly 12 months following my implant, I developed a burning sensation around the skin of my penis at the head (not the head itself). This developed about four months after I was diagnosed with neuropathy in the toes of both of my feet. The burning is so severe and painful that at times that sex -- oral and vaginal -- is virtually impossible. And it makes ejaculation impossible.
I have consulted with three urologists (including my implant surgeon). None had an answer, although all three suggested it might be related to my neuropathy. My implant surgeon said he usually sees 6-7 similar cases a year (some with implants, some not), but could not explain the condition.
My neurologist told me he had never treated such a case, but had heard of some. He has referred me to a specialist at a teaching hospital. I also saw a dermatologist who could not ID the problem.
Right now this is a devastating problem to me since my implant has worked so well for me.
Anyone heard of anything like this??
Thanks.

some have reported burning as a sign of infection. could also be a reaction to the antibiotic coating on the cylinders if there is nothing anotomicaly wrong with the implant. My urethra still burns after 1 week but I would not expect an issue a year out.

Thanks for responding. My implant surgeon examined me in early December and declared the implant was working OK. Obviously I already knew that. I, too, am beginning to wonder if it might be an infection or some sort of reaction to the implant. I am going to continue to seek an answer, no matter where it takes me. I do not accept that it is neuropathy-related because the pain and burning on my penis is in no way related to my neuropathy. I live in Auburn, Ala., about 100 miles from Atlanta and the same from the University of Alabama Medical Center in Birmingham. My implant was done at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville in May 2014. Anyone have a specialist in my neck of the woods they would recommend?
