Need some smart thoughts...

If Day of Surgery is Day-1 then I've just finished Day-5 (Ams-Cx)..

When I left hospital I was left partially inflated.
Without any support he sticks out almost horizontally but with very pronounced curvature to my right.
I always try to set shorts/Jock Strap so that he points to my belly button, but sometimes the curvature makes it slip down a little.
First Night I had a lot of pain where Catheter inserted. When removed Saturday it took me several hours to do first pee (brain knew it would hurt).
Since then I usually fill urinal to 250-300 ml each time BUT it still stings quite a bit each time.

The penis and scrotum are both fairly swollen.

I emailed Dr (WITH PIcs) and he replied:-
"The swelling is all soft tissue and will resolve with steady compression from the scrotal support and with elevation. I'd like you to deflate the cylinders in the morning.
This will help with both the swelling and the voiding"

- I thought that around Day-5 swelling usually went down anyway ?????
- There must be some great benefits leaving us partially inflated after surgery (Size?, Length? Shape?, Use?) - I want to do what Dr says BUT do not want to miss out on the 'benefits due to early deflation..
- btw still no BM (again brain afraid of Pain.

ANY ideas from anybody???
Thanks Dave

Actually I think the BM fear is more a case of being scared that I push too hard and damage the incision.
I had taken some stool softeners, then Monday Night a full dose of Milk of Magnesia. Supposed to actin 1-6 hours but did nothing!
Just about to take another does and head to bed!!!

Just push it out. A little pushing to get a BM going will not hurt your incision.

How much liquid are you drinking? The stool softeners and laxatives need lots of liquid to do their work.

If you can't get a BM with pills, try magnesium citrate. It's a drink, and doesn't taste too terrible. It will flush you right out. Stay close to a toilet for about eight hours.

THANKS for the encouragement Otto and DonBecker (didn't we chat on the Injections form?)
As suggested I took several large drinks this morning - Applied some mind over matter - and Gave Birth to triplets - YAY !!

For swelling and peeing pain - Dr still want's me to fully deflate this am. Then go see him Friday pm

Cheers
Dave...

Dave I really recommend you take that BM seriously, think about an enema. Please look at my blog and what happened to me. I would never wish this on any poor soul: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5615

Aloe Bitter Crystels work like a bomb. "natural laxative & detoxifier".

Thanks PCHelp and Strongagain.
Having had two major Hemorrhoid surgeries when younger I knew both the importance of an early BM as well as just how much it can hurt.e
I think it was the thought of the pain in my brain preventing it. However..
For those of you that missed my Reply earlier in this topic - I WAS ABLE to have a strong BM around lunchtime today - about 5 days after the pre-surgery one - Halleluya!
Thanks again for your concerns
