Looking to get a feel for how long the implant lasted before it needed to be replaced.

Dr. Kramer has a video where he replaces the implant installed 18 years ago.

My understanding is that it is usually between 10 and 20 years. (It was 12 years in my case.)

danny1553: that is some serious longevity right there!

Will the implants ever come with a mileage counter in the future?

18 yr not all that impressive, my 1st Dick lasted 65 years, They wouldn't come with mileage counters but maybe "stroke counters" like on an oilfield mud pump

He-he... Mine got retired at age 32. Considering the fact that it got employed at the age 16, it makes only 16 years of service. Definitely underperforming in comparison to an artificial dick :)

That's a good way to describe it.
Following your analogy, my dick got employed at 17. He was a lousy performer already from the start. As with all employees who don't perform from the beginning, my dick never really improved even though he had his good days once in a while. He tried hard though and even took drugs at work to stay up during the night shift. Even with his drug use, he still fell asleep sometimes right in the middle of servicing a customer. Luckily we mostly worked on a regular customer who sticked with us for a lot of other reasons.
I was a soft boss though, or an uninformed one maybe, and didn't know till just recently there was technique out there to replace that underperformer with a machine. Finally after 26 years of shitty performance, the sucker got sacked. The device that replaced him works much better, and during the rush hours I surely don't miss that fucker.
But still I can't help miss that poor bastard sometimes, especially during those idle periods when there is nothing to do in the office. He could easily be moved away when not needed, while as the machine is more cumbersome and takes up space even when not in use.
But I'm just too sentimental, and shouldn't look back I guess...

IIRC there was a member on some years back that was 20 or so years on an implant and needing a replacement.
