Day 13, Activation!

At the first followup appointment (13 days after surgery) everything visible was pretty well healed, there was no swelling, and I'd had little or no pain after the first couple days. Being impatient I was anxious to try the implant even though I know the standard is to wait 4-6 weeks after surgery. So after the stitches were out I showed the nurse I could deflate the implant (it was left partially inflated after surgery) and then she pumped it up quite a bit.
Surprisingly it didn't hurt that much. I think I'm used to some amount of penile discomfort from having followed a very aggressive VED program for a couple months before the surgery and high volume use (1 cc per) of the strongest Trimix formula for years. The amount of PGE-1 in the Trimix always gave me a nasty, painful penis ache for several hours after use at that level. I'd say that the Trimix ache was actually equal to or worse than anything I experienced due to the implant including the first activation.
I was anxious to check the length as it got visibly longer as the nurse pumped it up and it was slightly over 6 1/4" about exactly where Dr. Eid estimated it would be. That was two days ago and in the intervening time I've pumped it up once a day as much as I could for as long as I could stand it....at the moment I'm up to about 15 minutes.
Obserations:
Its hard, really hard. It is harder, stiffer than any erection I can remember having in the last fifteen years. Even without full glans engorgement (which Eid says takes about three months to fully recover if its going to) its very usable. I could probably hang my brief case on it and it wouldn't move much. I'm impressed. It also stands up about 45' which even the Trimix injections didn't usually manage.
As much as I can inflate it its wide. I have a Coloplast Titan, 21 cm with 1cm RTE. Peyronie/fibrosis shortened my penis (lost about 1 1/2" from that) but I was always girthy, about 5") and stayed that way even as my penis shrank. As pumped as I can get it now its closer to 6". Again I credit the presurgery VED program to really stretching out the tunica and corpus cavernosum.
Dr. Eid told me he used every bit of "real estate" in my penis during the surgery and had a difficult time getting through the fibrosis to install the larger implant. Seeing the result though I can say he is as good as I've read here on Frank Talk, a real artist. The pump bulb hangs down and back between my testicles. I'm going to see if any of my women friends take notice of this and mention it.
I know I've been lucky in many respects all through the (early) implant process. I'm glad I did it and very glad I chose Dr. Eid. After fifteen years of pills (100 mg at a time with all the timing and side effect issues) and four years of injections (again with all the timing issues and side effects) I am grateful to have an erection I can call on any time, know will stay hard as long as I want it to, and not have to worry anymore. I can already tell the pyschological effect of that is as consequential as anything, at least to me. It will be interesting to see how this plays out once I start using it next week.
