Anyone receive a written warranty/guarantee??

Did any of you receive a written implant device warranty/guarantee when you got your implant? Or a brochure or pamphlet to that effect? I've been doing a bit of research and it appears that the surgeons received such sales brochures from the device manufacturers. I recall being told that the device itself was guaranteed for life, and that it should last 10 years (on average). Do any of you recall being told this or seeing such a brochure or other document?

I didn't receive paperwork to this effect, but both replacements were covered by the AMS warranty.

Nope and I asked for one. Even called AMS help line and asked for a copy or a link to a web site where I could read it. Nadda. Nothing.

JerGeezer,

Did you have to get it approved by the manufacturer or did the surgeon do that for you?

Thanks.

My doctor told me that my Titan had a lifetime guarantee.
But the doctor bill for replacement was not covered.
I think Medicare would pay for that as they paid almost all the expenses of the one I have now.

Per the 44-page manual AMS puts out, I see nothing about warranty... all it says is the device may break... nothing about free replacement... seems another competitor with a better product and warranty could enter the market... b/c there s/b some warranty.. here goes: 1.2 Will my prosthesis have to be replaced?
"It is not possible to predict how long an implanted penile prosthesis will
function in a particular patient. As with any biomedical device, penile
prostheses are subject to wear and eventual failure over time, and therefore
should not be considered to be lifetime implants. Other causes can lead to
malfunctions of the prosthesis which occur more quickly. Discuss any changes
you notice in the function of the prosthesis with your doctor.
Product wear or other mechanical problems, such as unintended inflation or
deflation, or difficulty or inability to inflate or deflate may lead to additional
surgery to remove or replace the device.
Because it is not possible to tell how long an implanted penile prosthesis will
function in a particular patient, AMS has collected information on three sets
of data on device removals and revisions to help you understand product
performance over time."

Wolf, you ask a good question. It may be if the doctor has a good enough relationship w/ the manufacturer, it may result in free replacement device.

Wolfcreek: I don't know who did it, but it wasn't me.

Lifetime Replacement Policy: Coloplast provides a lifetime replacement policy with all of its penile implants. The inflatable implant, or any component, can be replaced for any reason during your lifetime.

This is from the colorplast website.
