If considering an implant

If considering an implant, do not accept second best. If you accept the work of a shoddy doctor who does not care, who tells you 3" is just fine if it gets hard, if you accept tubing that rubs, pumps that are too high, you are putting a rubber stamp on acceptance of that doctor's style of work, basically approving him doing the same crappy work on the next guy. Research well. Do not accept all written comments that Dr. xxxx is a great guy. Look for proof of his work. Do a search going back in the threads. I wish I had. Cheers everyone.

I agree 100% Alibaba: you have to do your research/due diligence in order to avoid a potentially problematic result. That being said, Frank Talk is an invaluable research resource for anyone who may be considering an implant procedure. Where else online can you find hundreds of patients' detailed accounts of their own surgery/outcome/experience with a particular surgeon and/or implant/implant method? After reading literally thousands of posts here and corresponding with other members via PM, I am of the firm belief that the procedure is as much art as it is science, and the published reports from members here on Frank Talk bear that out every day. In my case, I wanted to get my procedure done right the first time & would've gone anywhere in the country to find the right surgeon who had that particular balance of knowledge/skill/art.

Congrats once again on slamdunking all the grief/hell you went through in connection with your first implant procedure into the dustbin of history!

One reason I posted to weigh information carefully. There was a period here when Milam was bragged as being one of the 5 best in the country here on Frank Talk. I chose him on the basis of that recommendation, he would take my insurance and within a 1/2 day drive as did others here seeking revisions now. Had I searched his name I would have found he had a history of bad issues going back years. I followed advice here to use Milam. I won't get into who or where but I am aware of 10 now who have had to have his work redone and 3 more scheduled. Check your doc out well. The person who posts it was great may have lower standards or expectations than you. Great to him might be your worst horror story as mine was. I've taken a few tylenol with this new implant today but there were times this summer when the last implant was hurting so much after many months that I sat down in the floor in a store with tears running down my cheeks as I could not take it any more. Other than today's Tylenols I have taken no pain meds with this surgery. Didn't prostatectomy either. I just deal with it but a crappy implant can throw more at you than you can handle. DO YOUR RESEARCH. EXTENSIVELY.

[size=200]As alibaba said, research and then research more. Take you time, I spent about a year checking doctors and finally selected Dr. Kramer. I have never looked back and wondered. I had the best, he is such a nice man and always there for you. Talk to guys that have had the surgery, watch videos, meet with patients and most will do "Show and Tell' as I have. A neighbor I met had prostate surgery 10 yrs ago and hadn't had sex since. He was implanted on Jan 11 by doctor Kramer and doing very well.

Alibaba went through hell because of Milan and the word about this guy should spread before he does another bad job.
