AMS CX

Hello Guys,
I have signed up to join the club and am scheduled to go under the knife the 1st week of November. My doc is an AMS man (over the Titan) but actually prefers the AMS CX over the LGX. He claims that the CX produces firmer erections. Do any of you have the CX or have knowledge or an opinion on the CX vs LGX argument?
It seems like come November I will have to change my handle from woodless to something a bit more appropriate. So far all I've got is: 3wood, steve austin, ironwood, woodsman, woodpecker, peckerwood...
The winning suggestions gets drinks of your choice on me the next time you visit Fort Lauderdale beach or South Beach.

I have a CX and it is firm as hell. My fully inflated erection moves around like a normal erection. Looks normal totally deflated. The CX is the best choice for men above 7".

Congratulations and I am glad you found someone so close to your neighborhood. I will be next in line down there if I don't hear from the doc here. Definitely want to know more about the efforts made to get to see the doctor. Anyway, what a relief for you!

Congrats on your future solution! I have been extremely happy with my Coloplast Titan and I am sure you will be with your implant as well!
One note that I find interesting is that you said the doctor is a "AMS man" over anything else. I have a strong belief that the implant is like a car or a haircut, one will not work for all. I only bring this up because my doctor works with both and thought the Titan would be the best choice for me (as im sure the CX will work for you). But has anyone else seen this trend when hearing other men' experience? I know that some doctors only work with one company or are bias and could this lead to a handcuff when recieving an implant? Food for thought.

You make an excellent point Minnesota. There are doctors in this field that are "married" to one company or another. It seems like there might be a financial incentive for some docs to push product. Ultimately it comes down to the patient doing his own due diligence and deciding which implant they are most comfortable with. This website has proved invaluable in that regard. Despite the strong pro/con arguments regarding the AMS vs Coloplast issue by some doctors and implant recipients the fact remains they are both excellent products.

Agreed. But the one thing I still question is how the heck do I know what the better implant is for me? Of course when someone would describe the AMS implants and that they stretch in both length and width, then yes! sign me up. But since I was born with ED and that I am young, the doctor instantly went with the Titan.
My point in this is that I did not know that men had a decision to make in which one they wanted. Did you actually pick out the make and model? I can't imagine going into an implant store and saying "....ahhh.......that one!" as I take it down from the self to check out. An additional point is when going to a doctor who is making the decision for you, do you want him "stuck" with one brand and style of implants?

Woodless, this is what I was recently told by my urologist. First off I told him I had read about all 3 and the LGX seemed to make the most "sense" to me. He measured me in the office at just under 6 inches. He said length was not an issue, and my wife who was present agreed. Then he showed us both the LGX and the CX. There is a noticable difference in axial rigidity when inflated because of the way they weave the fibers to allow for length expansion in the LGX. It is certainly an individual choice based on many factors. We chose the CX. Surgery Oct. 11th, cheers and good luck.

Thanks for the information on the CX Bill. It coincides with what two urologists have told me about it. I am about the same size as you and my doctor stongly favors the CX for me as well. Good luck to you and let us now how everything turns out for you.

I'm so happy to hear that there will be a few CX guys around here. It seems that the CX is catching on. Now we'll have three types to compare and contrast, plus Hockey's malleable implant. Best of luck to the both of you with your upcoming operations. Can't wait to hear the results. LGX_Man (Keith)

One thing that has caught my attention is the note from Todd Duran about the CX vs LGX size availability. Only 2cm choices for the CX, vs .5 cm increments for the LGX.
That could be very significant and does not allow for "customization" of implant during surgery when they are actually measuring corpora. I have a pre op Oct 6th and will definitely be asking about this issue.
