Does anyone know why the bulbourethral vein can not be ligated?

Arteries supply blood in. Veins supply blood out. Likely because bulbourethral vein is the only route out so there would be no circulation of blood if it was tied of. End result: Your glans dies. Dead glans could be a nasty thing.
