Is this even possible? Use autoinflation to advantage?

Has anyone been able to (after popping the inflation valve to the "inflate" position) to cause any amount of erection by pressing on the reservoir?

It seems to me that some devices are prone to auto-inflation and this might be useful in certain circumstances.

It might be accomplished either by outside pressure over the reservoir or internally flexing one's abdominal muscles or a combination of both, perhaps

edit: This question was prompted by merrix's poost in the thread "My Journal" wherein he says (about what occurs naturally on a dance floor), "If you want to mimic the natural process of getting hard when a girl rubs her ass in your crotch, then the answer is no,".

But in other threads, some men complain about unwanted gradual inflation during the day and having to actually excuse themselves to find privacy so they can deflate.

NOTE: Long posting, but I hope it can help some Bionic Brothers.

LostSheep,

I needed to think about this, but I do not recall any instance that this has happened to me on any of my 3 implants.

However, the only time I was advised about how to use the deflation valve to my benefit by one of the many surgeons I talked to, is that for Coloplast users (which complain a lot about the discomfort created by the pronounced "dog ears" created when deflated), was to only deflate until enough saline migrated to the reservoir, but enough is kept to reduce the formation of "dog ears."

Then, press the bulb to engage the valve so the cylinders will not deflate due to pressure created by clothing, or any body movements that will force more deflation, hence more pronounced "dog ears." He said that such practice is widely used.

On the other hand, he also explained to me that for the large cylinders he would need to implant on me, some other patients he has had with similar situation, the trick alleviates one discomfort, but create other. The penis stays heavy creating discomfort and pain, and most of them ended up doing an in-between. That way, it was light enough to feel comfortable, but get used to have have a small "dog ears" that the discomfort was bearable.

I finally decided to go with AMS, but I use the trick to avoid extreme deflation that may create "foldings."

My understanding is that most implants can no longer do autoinflation (aka accidental inflation, happening when it's not what you want). They have changed the inflate valve, I've been told.

David_R,

You are correct, they are design to avoid auto-inflation. However, as any mechanical piece of equipment, they can fail at one point of their lifespan.

Also, I have been explained by AMS & Coloplast reps. and surgeons that during their first 1-3 months of life, they can show some signs of auto-inflation (which I have experienced just few times). Once they have been used regularly for cycling, it has stopped completely.

Historically, auto inflation was considered undesirable, since it means getting a half chub when doing any lifting or straining. Thus, all new models have special extra lockout valves that keep this from happening -- at least in theory and by design.

The reservoir for me is too deep to feel, so there is no way that I could pump my reservoir. Also, even if I could pump it, I doubt that I would be able to get rock hard for high quality sex.

I suspect that you are thinking that it would be great just to "get hard" by using abdomen pressure and straining. I just do not see that as possible, even if the lock out valve was disabled. There is a physics hydraulics issue: small diameter "bubble" (like the pump in the scrotum) is capable of building bigger pressures to the cylinders than a large diameter ball (like the reservoir).

One day, there will be an auto inflating penile implant, I suppose, but I am not convinced that many will necessarily see that as an improvement. Inflating is really no big deal, and it looks like I am just scratching my balls. It can be so inoccuous that I could imaging that a woman might not notice it if she is giving a blow job --- since her attention will be on your pubic hairs and your face, not on your balls, and she might just think that you happen to like "touching your own balls" while being fellated. :)

Note: my pump is totally silent when squeezing

I think y'all missed my point. Obviously, I expressed my thoughts badly.

A couple of threads recently have hinted at a desire for a moderate degree of autoinflation.

As you point out, Plumber1964, a properly functioning valve will not autoinflate when in the lockout position. But the autoinflation lockout is disabled once the pump has started the inflation process. Thus, a man could take one pump before going dancing and a little "half chub" could well grow and tantalize his dance partner.

As Tangerine points out, a full erection ("I doubt that I would be able to get rock hard for high quality sex.") will not be produced, but that is not the point. A hint of an erection is all that is desired. A suggestion that will insert itself (or penetrate) into the mind of his partner.

Apparently it DOES happen to some guys, but not always when they want. I just wonder if one could produce the effect when it IS desired.

My wife jokes that the next step should be either one that hardens when you clap your hands or one that has an electronic cordless on-off button.

I'm waiting for an implant you can inflate/deflate with a wireless remote control. Maybe add a built in 3-speed vibrator.

Most likely controlled via Bluetooth from your iPhone.

They are working on an implant that responds to a magnetic field. No reservoir, no pump, no saline.

Wave a field generator over your pubis and the flexible metallic implant expands and stiffens.

Animal trials under way.

A couple threads here have mentioned it.
