What's your oppinion

I'm scheduled for an implant on 6/9 by Dr. Michael O'neill here in Charlotte NC. I found out he does about 2 a month. He's been doing them for 20 years, so he does have experience. He does other surgeries as well, so he just doesn't do implants. Should I be concerned? There is also a young lady doctor ( Dr Ashley Tapscott) who does them as well. She is in Huntersville NC which is close by, and she does significantly more, maybe averages 8 a month. But she is 37, so I don't know how long she's been doing them. But someone on here said to stay away from her. I really would like to stay in the area. What do you guys think?

Find other guys who've had implants done by either one of the doctors, and don't go with one unless he/she gets rave reviews.

See if she has been trained by any top doctors and if possible, find a doctor who has done a lot more. You don't want to make a mistake with this. Type their names on this site and see if anyone has posted about them.

37 years old would not bother me. Dr. Kramer who gets rave reviews here is only 44. Dr. Karpman on the west coast I think is also similar aged. Number of implants and patient experience is a lot more important than age. Though Dr. Eid at or around 60 is an exception, I would rather have a more recently trained surgeon than some old geezer who has been stuck in the same rut as when they trained in the army in 1962.

Give Dr Aaron Lentz at Duke Urology of Raleigh
A call.He does about 150 a year and can do both
Imfrapubic and Scrotal. As well he is a lecturing professor at Duke University and has written white papers on Implant Surgery as well as other urological procedures. He performed my surgery on April 19 and things are going along very well.
Good Luck

Les

Dr. Michael O'neill is 69. No I'm second guessing myself. I have made an appointment with Dr Tapscott for this Friday.

Make sure you feel comfortable with her. If not find another.

I think I am just worrying for nothing. I feel comfortable with Dr. Michael O'neill. He graduated from Wake Forest and has been doing implants for over 20 years. I'll talk to him next Tuesday, and will ask if I can talk to one of his implant patients. Online comments about him are excellent. Dr Eid is 67, so I'm not worried about his age.
