hi everyone,
My question is , is it important that the implant is pumped daily and how long after the surgery should I start inflating the implant. I will be going for the surgery in a few months .

Thanks

Talk to your surgeon

Generally you will be partially inflated when you leave hospital and stay that way for a few weeks. Many of us begin giving the pump a few squeezes around the 2 week mark and discover how to deflate slightly.
The surgeon will inflate you on the important return date to expand scar tissue etc.....slightly uncomfortable but also slightly exhilarating.

But I will say this quite clearly, each person is different.....always listen to your surgeon!

After you have healed and have begun using the implant it is not necessary to inflate it daily. I got my implant in 2008 and have never used it - my doctor (Kramer) advised me to inflate it "every now and then to keep things stretched and healthy." I inflate mine every month or so for a couple of minutes when it occurs to me and I have seen no problems.

Im 5 months post op and I pump mine almost full at night and release in the morning. I don't do it every night. Just when I think about it.

i have been told that it should be pumped at least once a week once you have fully healed (ie, after 3 months). If you have sex more often, then good for you, but , I have been told, once a week is what is needed to keep things loose and ideal. Beyond that, "use it when you need it"

Some of us have wondered whether an implant is like a car tire. The tire lasts roughly 30,000 miles, and maybe an implant lasts roughly 1500 inflations ??????

I have never read anything about whether implant lifespan is hindered or helped from being cycled extensively. That is an interesting question.

I pump up every day for an hour, first thing in the morning until I get dressed. I noticed if I forget to pump up, the next time the "pump" seems harder to squeeze.

Good advice from Smetro. I was told not to attempt to use it for ANYTHING until after 6 weeks... others will say different. Further I was told that, yes, you need to cycle it everyday for a while to prevent atrophy. It was further suggested that I get a vacuum and start that as well... just my 2 cents, I can wait to be jumped on by the Frank Talk Police.

Isn't that incredibly uncomfortable? I sleep on my belly... probably wouldn't work for me.

Now that's out of the way I will admit to having, albeit very tentative and gentle sex 14 days after my op.... my GF was keen for some inner warmth!
It caused NO harm whatsoever and because I had given it a couple of pumps I had to deflate it afterwards a little as well. No probs and possibly helped me to familiarise myself with my new friend.
I am finding, just like many implantees of greater duration that it is slowly becoming just another part of my body......however- paddling my surfboard isn't as easy with my package now as it was previously....... small accommodation for a very, very effective apparatus that makes my beautiful GF smile daily!
And yes I do still cycle daily..... She loves watching me walk around with my cock bouncing away out front.......grins all round!
