Seattle VA Surgeons

Postby Lost Sheep » Mon Jun 19, 2017 1:21 pm

As many on the forum have read in my posts, I have been seeking Penile Implant surgery through the Veteran's Administration in Maryland so Dr. Kramer would be able to the surgery.  I have gotten a local urologist and Dr. Kramer on board with the idea but the Maryland VA is finding it difficult to accomodate my desires and the VA in Alaska (where I live) has suggested the Washington VA in Seattle as an alternative.

The problem is, I know nothing of the surgeons associated with the Washington State VA.

Does anyone have any experience with any of these urologic surgeons?  Apparently, these are the surgeons available to me through my VA instead of Dr. Kramer in Maryland.

Paul Axford, MD
Bruce Dalkin, MD
Atreya Dash, MD
William Ellis, MD
Jonathan Harper, MD
John Krieger, MD
Paul Lange, MD
Thomas Lendvay, MD
Daniel Lin, MD
Jane Miller, MD
Richard Pelman, MD
Michael Porter, MD
Thomas Walsh, MD, MS
Jonathan Wright, MD
Claire Yang, MD

I am at my wit's end here and could use any advice at all.

Thank you, my brothers in ED. I have to make a decision soon or the window on having this "cure" may close.

Lost Sheep,

Is WA the only option offered, or can CA be an option? There are more names mentioned by patients about surgeons in San Francisco, LA and San Diego. Just a thought.

Seattle only option offered.

I have a relative three hours by car fron San Francisco, but I don't think Alaska VA would be that flexible. The offer of Seattle was surprising.

Switching from the Baltimore/Kramer (failed) option to the Seattle/unknown option might be my last straw. My suggesting another change of venue might be the straw that breaks the camel's back. I might have to try, though.

Seattle is the alternative my VA offered. They may not approve another.

Just in case, could you share these VA Surgeons' names (the ones who work in the San Francisco VA --or, better yet, Sacramento--, please) with me, by PM if you prefer? Thanks.

Lost Sheep,

I will try to get some of the information, but you should start with contacting the AMS and the Coloplast representatives, and ask them about their recommendations.
