Hello all, Im new to the site and have gotten a ton of information on the great success and few failures on going the implant route. Please forgive me with the long post.
Here's my story:
Im a mid 40s guy whos in good shape, no medical issues and pretty normal. In my 20s I had a motorcycle accident that caused trauma to my groin area, specifically near the base of my penis. Scar tissue formed. Ever since that accident, Ive had a hard time maintaining an erection. Pills worked sometimes..mostly by myself but always failed when with a woman. So I know this ED has developed into a psychiological issue as well. I next tried the injections which worked too but I find it a hassle to interrupt things, go to the bathroom and inject myself..The single life is tough enough and most women would think its strange that I have to inject myself to get an erection. Since most of you on here have loving partners/wives who were with you through this journey, Im sure they gave you great support. I feel a little bit isolated and lonely with this problem. After reading about implants on the net, I decided to research the subject and found some great information. I made an appointment with Dr. Francois Eid in NYC and met with him. After examining me, he said that I might have nicked the area where blood flows into the corpra, making it tough to maintain an erection. On top of this, past failures with women made it where I have zero confidence now in the bedroom. So its become a two part problem. Im going back to him this week to get a doppler ultrasound and injection to see what is really happening. He also said if I go this route, the surgery wouldnt be a tough one if I didnt have scar tissue in my spongy tissues and since I do get erections with medication but just can't maintain them.Im very tired of giving up on relationships, having no confidence in the bedroom, and being depressed. I should be enjoying my life, would love to meet someone and start a family but this has been a real thorn in my side. My questions to the community is:
1. Im concerned about losing length, sitting differently, and playing sports. Because I didnt have diabetes, peryonies, or prostate surgery, will I lose length?
2. Can you travel un-detected thru airport scanners?
3. Can you get routine exams from doctors without telling them you have one? Colonoscapy? prostate exams?
4. Do I have to tell women I have an implant? Can they tell? I would tell the right girl when the time is right and I know she is understanding and sincere.
I greatly appreciate your responses to my questions and my story. Thank you. Jer129
Mid 40s, Single and thinking about an implant
Re: Mid 40s, Single and thinking about an implant
1. Im concerned about losing length, sitting differently, and playing sports. Because I didnt have diabetes, peryonies, or prostate surgery, will I lose length?
Possibly. Alot depends on the current physical condition of your penis and what kind of implant you get.
Sports...go ahead and play every sport you want with an implant. I do. There has not been ONE single physical limitation that I have come across. Hockey goalie, paintball, weight lifting, cross training, atv riding, jet ski riding....you name it ive done it with an implant. Oh skydiving too
2. Can you travel un-detected thru airport scanners?
Yes.
3. Can you get routine exams from doctors without telling them you have one? Colonoscapy? prostate exams?
Well most ask if you have had a surgery or a pre-existing condition dont they? Does it matter that they know? Im guessing none of these exams conflict with an implant.
4. Do I have to tell women I have an implant? Can they tell? I would tell the right girl when the time is right and I know she is understanding and sincere.
I know other guys on here can speak more about being with multiple partners while having an implant than I have, but the girl i was with while getting the implant and a few years after had no issues with it. It was not noticable unless she wanted her hands on my balls, then she would be able to feel the pump. As time goes by, us guys with implants learn our own ways of hiding it while were in the bedroom. Maybe eating her out while pumping up? everyone has their own technique. I am guessing that since not every women has the experience of a porn star, they probably wont notice.

Hey Minnesota, thanks for the answers. One more for you.. Generally how long do you have to take off from work?
Re: Mid 40s, Single and thinking about an implant
Well I would say that depends on your doctor. My doctor was extremely strict about my recovery game plan. I was not able to do anything for 2 weeks. This included driving my car. I was not activated until about week 10. Some men are activated around week 4, which in my opinion why they have troubles with pain and swelling and such.
To be safe I would plan a week or two of not being able to do much to be on the safe side. Some guys who had an extremely fast recovery and a doctor that wanted to see you sooner will say otherwise.
