One week out

Hi guys.
I'm one week after implant. I'm surprised I don't feel better than I do. I was not prepared for the pain in my balls. I thought the recovery would be from the surgery. It's not. You need to recover from the foreign objects invading your body. The swelling has gone down. I still can't stand up for more than a few minutes without throwing pain in my sack. Can anyone tell me how long before this goes away. I need a little encouragement

Lol. I'm right there with ya at the one week mark today. I was concerned about the level of pain and went back to my surgeon this morning. After an examination I was told everything is perfectly fine. They deflated me a bit and I felt immediate relief. After a 3 hour round trip I couldn't wait to get home to ice everything down. The only complete relief I have is lying down perfectly still. I'm very tired of being in bed. I got another script for pain meds while there and was told they'll keep me supplied as long as needed. After 18 prior surgeries I'm well aware of the snare narcotics can be but I'm stretching the time between doses longer and longer. As it turned out, everything I had as a concern was never an issue at all. Your mileage will vary with respect to how you heal.

Jerry,
I can't help you, as I'm one week away from my implant, but I can say I'm sorry to hear you're in the pain you're in and I hope you feel better fast.
And I'm looking forward to reading whatever encouraging words are coming your way.

Bob

Hi Dave
I have no idea how the hell you drove 3 hours. As I said if I'm up for more than 10 minutes I'm in pain. The pain in my dick is different than the pain in th balls. The dick pain you can bear with. The part erection is definitely uncomfortable. I understand why they do it. That damn pump in the sack is what's causing all my trouble. I hope the boys accept the new playmate soon and stop protesting.

Well, first, I want to thank everyone on this board. I would have been lost without the information here.

Had a robot prostatectomy April 28, 2017. Everything went fine. Relying on information on this board I flew 1000 miles to see Dr. Kramer on May 16. Decided to have the implant as soon as the incontinence resolved.

Had the penile implant on July 19, 2017. Immensely impressed with the University of Maryland Medical Center. Everyone knew what they were doing.

Next day removed bandages and catheter. Absolutely no swelling, no bruising, minimal discomfort and had absolutely no sensation my scotum had a new tenant.

Religiously stayed in bed for 3 days and have tried to take it easy but in actuality, have had normal activity, walking, driving etc since I left Baltimore.

Always sorry to hear when someone is in pain. Best of luck.

A quick note to all you fellows recovering and close to your surgical date; keep your feet and legs lower than your nuts!

There is an unfortunate occurrence while lying abed, you generally wind up laying with you head and chest up a bit and also your legs raised a bit. Guess what this makes the low point. I was warned of this by my surgeon, thank you Dr. Morris.

When I had my implant done 4.5 years ago I followed this advice and was able to avoid pain pills.

I have to go back for a revision 8/18 and plan to follow the same advice.
