Add'l Question

Postby nbriley » Sat Aug 05, 2017 10:24 am

I'm going for my first consultation next week, if I am a candidate for an implant what is the wait time usually?
Also should I expect to have to go back for additional visits after my first consultation since I'm 7 hours away it would be difficult?

Depend on which doctor you choose, physical condition, and if you run into any problems. I did my consult and surgery the same day due to traveling. All of my lab work was done locally. After surgery, doc came to my hotel to check on everything.
Since I was doing well and did the activation on my own, returning for a follow up visit wasn't necessary but I returned anyway just to satisfy myself that I was doing everything right. Appointment lasted 5 minutes maximum.
So the answer to your question is maybe yes, maybe no.

As Tybeeman says, if you have the option to fly, it should be the preferred transportation method. And take advantage of the wheelchair since they will expedite all registration and boarding process for you and any companion.

Thanks
I fly a good bit on Delta and I'm Platinum so I usually board first anyway but the thought of going thru Hartsfield with the crowds and trains after surgery is a little scary, healthy is bad enough

You don't have to tell the airlines anything. When booking online, all you do is request a wheelchair. It will be waiting when you get there. Also easier getting through security.
