Implant: Soft vs. Erect Length
Implant: Soft vs. Erect Length
It was my impression the largest cylinders that your penis can accommodate are implanted in you, and whatever that length is, your penis will be both soft and hard because the cylinders are a fixed length. Some of you talk about your soft length vs. hard length and in some cases there is quite a difference. I know with cycling your implant, some may expand a bit with use and time. When I watch the various videos online, they seem to confirm my thinking. There doesn't appear to be a length change. So, am I mistaken in my thinking or it it a difference in the type of implant you each have?
I am 64 and had ED from a VL. Implanted by Dr. Ronald Anglade in Atlanta on 9/18/17. I have an AMS700LGX 21 cm via a Penoscrotal incision. Very happy with results. 6" soft and 6 3/4” x 5 5/8” hard.

Re: Implant: Soft vs. Erect Length
It all depends on the implant. You are correct for all but the AMS 700 LGX. It is designed to expand in both girth and length. Length for this implant will expand a maximum of 20% though some men seem to get a little more over time. Mine worked out to just about exactly that.
Age 75 Implanted by Dr. Andrew Kramer 03/22/2017. AMS 700 LGX 18 CM with 2 Cm RTE for a total of 20 CM. Previously used injections over 1000 no scarring
Re: Implant: Soft vs. Erect Length
So the expansion with time and use only affects the hard size? It seems like if they expand, it would impact both hard and soft.

Re: Implant: Soft vs. Erect Length
My understanding is that your erect length is pretty much determined by what it was prior to the implant (+/- a little). In general, the implantion does not increase this dimension, and can decrease it. Cycling can help you reach whatever your max length is going to be.
Your flaccid length can -- and usually does -- gain somewhat. I believe the Coloplast Titan, due to the stiffer nature of the material, tends to keep the flaccid length closer to the erect length than does the LGX.
Just what I gather from about a year of following posts here and other research....

Re: Implant: Soft vs. Erect Length
Yes, Bob I am aware I definitely will not gain length. My curiosity is only about soft vs. hard being the same with some guys and different with other guys. So it seems to be the brand of implant that causes it.

Greg
Check the pics in Donnie's new thread 'implant pics.
I think you can see similar characteristics in AMS and Titan from flaccid to erect.... Maybe 3/4 inch gain?

Re: Implant: Soft vs. Erect Length
I was told my my doc that with the ams cx, the flaccid length would be exactly the same as the erect length and that my post op length would most likely be exactly what it was pre - op. He was right on all counts. I am, was and probably always will be 5.5" flaccid and erect. 2X/day cycling for six months does not seem to have changed this. I think girth has increased a bit but haven't measured.

I picked up the idea of using a toilet roll centre to measure my girth as I keep cycling. When I started doing it 4 months ago my penis fitted pretty easily but now it's getting tighter.....only works if you use the same one...obviously
